WWE had three matches for the live crowd before the May 26 episode of NXT went live on The CW and internationally on Netflix.
The biggest moment came when Marie Malenko, the daughter of Dean Malenko and granddaughter of Boris Malenko, made her WWE debut under the name Lainey Simon.
Simon came up short in her first WWE match, losing to Zena Sterling. The other two matches saw Elijah Holyfield defeat Brooks Jensen, while EK Prosper picked up a win over Viktor Zanov.
The full pre-show results were:
- Elijah Holyfield defeated Brooks Jensen.
- Zena Sterling defeated Lainey Simon, also known as Marie Malenko.
- EK Prosper defeated Viktor Zanov.
Fans watching NXT at home did not get to see Marie Malenko’s first WWE match, but the live crowd witnessed the next member of the Malenko family step into a WWE ring.
