Vince Russo’s The Brand Recap – Special Guest Stevie Ray, Cena Buries Corbin, What’s NXT’s Purpose? More!

Russo welcomes former WCW legends Stevie Ray and Glenn Gilbertti (Disco Inferno) to the show. Russo is also joined by his co-host Jeff Lane.

Russo has a bone to pick with Stevie Ray, who on one of his recent podcasts said that former Divas such as Terri Wilson had no business being on wrestling programming. Stevie Ray felt that those women did not earn their stripes in the wrestling business, and were only put on television because of their looks. Russo says that’s exactly why they were put on television, because ratings were at a premium and sex sells.

Russo continues by saying no man wants to see women wrestle; they want to see women walk around the ring in skimpy clothing. Stevie Ray even admits to utilizing sexy women to sell his indie shows in Texas, but his problem with Russo employing women like Wilson, is that they were prominent figures on television and took the spots of other men or women who worked for years to earn that spot.

Russo was also offended by the fact that Stevie Ray implied that his late friend Chyna looked like a man. Stevie Ray explains himself by saying that those comments were taken out of context. He was simply pointing out that Chyna was placed in matches against men and even defeated male competitors, so it was impossible to look at her as just another female performer. She resembled a male in terms of her in-ring prowess.
