Jay White is heading back to the sidelines after AEW announced during the October 3, 2026 episode of AEW Collision that the Switchblade is injured and could be out of action for up to two months.

The timing is rough because White had only recently worked his way back into regular competition after a brutal stretch of injury problems. His latest match came on September 26, when he teamed with Ace Austin, Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn in an eight-man tag match. AEW did not reveal the exact nature of this latest injury during Collision.

White has had no shortage of setbacks over the last couple of years. Ringside News previously covered his legitimate injury in the summer of 2024, which forced the Bang Bang Gang to give up their six-man championships and kept him out of action for an extended stretch. He had last wrestled Hangman Page on July 6 before that absence.

Things got even worse in 2025. White suffered a broken hand during his March 29 match against Kevin Knight, an injury that required surgery and forced him out of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. AEW worked the absence into television with a Death Riders attack, but the injury itself was legitimate.

That recovery then became even more complicated when White was also found to be dealing with a shoulder injury. Ringside News noted in July 2025 that the shoulder problem could potentially keep him out for the rest of the year, and he ultimately underwent shoulder surgery before eventually returning.

White finally got cleared again in 2026, with Tony Khan later saying his return came down to the wire before Forbidden Door. That comeback followed more than a year of hand and shoulder problems derailing plans for him, including a major creative direction that would have seen him tied to the Death Riders.

Now White is dealing with another setback just months after finally getting back into the mix. AEW has only given a timetable of up to two months for this latest injury, so for now the big question is whether he can avoid another prolonged absence and get back before the end of 2026.

What do you think about Jay White getting hit with another injury after everything he went through in 2024 and 2025? Let us know in the comments.
