Vince Russo isn’t confirming he’s leaving Juggalo Championship Wrestling—but he also isn’t pretending everything is business as usual. After weeks of fans wondering what was going on, Russo has now offered his clearest explanation yet about where things stand.
The speculation started after fans noticed Russo making fewer JCW appearances, posting less about the promotion and no longer listing it in his social media bio. Russo initially brushed much of that off, explaining he skipped the Gathering of the Juggalos because he didn’t think it was the right environment for a 65-year-old and later avoided another taping because of COVID concerns.
Now, speaking on The Coach and Bro Show, Russo returned to the subject and admitted there is more to the situation than can be explained in a quick answer. He told fans that he’s already discussed what’s happening on RussosBrand.com, where he has the time to properly explain everything instead of trying to squeeze it into a few seconds.
“Guys, listen, man. I have an entire platform, RussosBrand.com, and it’s been around almost 12 years. You guys know I’m very transparent on Russo’s Brand, and if something is going on in my life and at JCW, I will talk about it there.
It’s because it’s not something to discuss in 30 seconds. If I’m gonna discuss these things, it’s gonna be at least a 30-minute show where I’m discussing it. So for those who wanna know, I have talked about the situation with JCW and what’s going on at JCW.”
Russo then explained why he hasn’t been giving fans a definitive answer. According to Russo, part of the reason is simply that there isn’t one yet. He said situations like this can leave people in limbo, making it impossible to give clear answers until everything has played out.
“They also have to understand that if it’s something you’re going through and there’s no conclusion yet, a lot of times you’re in limbo, and a lot of times there is really nothing to say until you know. Everyone knows I’ve got no problem telling the truth, but Coach, you went through this too. Sometimes you’re in limbo. Sometimes you don’t know. Sometimes it can go one way or the other, and you can’t give an answer until you know the answer yourself.”
Russo also pushed back on the idea that every wrestling departure has to involve a backstage fight or some dramatic falling out. Instead, he said life outside wrestling has become a much bigger factor in the decisions he’s making these days.
“A lot of times it’s a personal thing, man, and it has nothing to do with there being a fight or a war. Sometimes it’s just where I am in life and what I may want to do next.
I say this a lot… my wife retired, so my wife is home every single day. Bro, I wanna do things with my wife. The show being at 12 o’clock is sometimes a problem for me because my wife is retired now, and 12 o’clock is right smack in the middle of the day. My point is, when I add more responsibilities to that, it takes away from the time I could be spending with her. So it’s stuff like that. It’s not always an argument or beef.”
Russo finished by explaining why this feels like a natural point to step back and reevaluate. When he first started with JCW, the arrangement was handled one show at a time. A year later, he believes it’s only natural to take stock of where things stand.
“I said if you want to hear me talk more about JCW, you can get all that info on RussosBrand.com. That’s an excuse? Guys, you need to understand that the whole JCW thing was on a show-by-show basis. Bro, it’s been a year now! I’ve been there from October through September. So now that it’s no longer on a show-by-show basis and I’ve been there a year, again, bro, there just comes a time when you gotta reevaluate things. I mean, it’s that simple, man.”
Russo still hasn’t announced that he’s leaving JCW, and he stopped well short of saying everything has been resolved. What he did make clear is that the situation isn’t as simple as internet rumors suggested. Whether he stays or walks away, it sounds like the decision will come down to where he wants this next chapter of his life to go—not some backstage blow-up.
