Velvet Sky has spent years rejecting WrestleCade, but she’s finally giving in. The former TNA star announced on September 21, 2026 that she’s willing to make her first-ever appearance at the massive wrestling convention after repeatedly refusing because it falls on Thanksgiving weekend.
Sky didn’t hide the fact that promoters have been chasing her for this one for a long time. Every year the question comes up, and every year she has turned them down because spending Thanksgiving weekend with her family took priority.
“Every year I get asked by multiple promoters and wrestling fans if I would do @WrestleCade and every year I have politely declined because it’s Thanksgiving weekend which is a big holiday weekend for my family and I.”
Now she’s finally willing to give up part of that weekend. Sky revealed that she has come up with a compromise that would allow her to finally do WrestleCade without sacrificing the entire holiday. She’s willing to appear Saturday, and she could potentially stick around for Sunday as well. Sky didn’t stop at telling fans she was interested either. She went straight to the promoters and gave them exactly what they need to start talking business.
“This year, I figured I would compromise and have decided I will do Saturday only or a possible Saturday and Sunday signing.”

So after years of getting nowhere, anyone who has wanted Velvet Sky at WrestleCade finally has a shot. The interesting part is that Sky never stopped doing these kinds of appearances altogether. When she previously explained why she retired from professional wrestling, she specifically made it clear that retirement only applied to taking bumps. She still enjoyed traveling to wrestling shows, comic conventions and other events to meet fans. WrestleCade was apparently the exception because of where it landed on the calendar. That excuse is gone now — at least for Saturday.
Nothing has been officially booked yet, so Sky isn’t announcing that she’ll definitely be there. What she has done is tell promoters that after years of refusing the event, she’s finally ready to hear offers and see if somebody can make her first WrestleCade appearance happen.
