Sami Zayn won the WWE Championship on September 11, and Val Venis somehow saw more than a title change. The former WWE star immediately zeroed in on Zayn being Muslim and started connecting the victory to his ongoing conspiracy theories about 9/11.

Val Venis took to Twitter after Zayn defeated CM Punk on Friday Night SmackDown. He started by questioning WWE putting its top championship on Zayn on the 25th anniversary of the attacks.

“📢🔴 WWE put the Undisputed WWE Championship on Muslim Sami Zayn on the 25th anniversary of 9/11. There is way more to unpack here. But this is the basic for now.”

That was only the beginning. Venis brought up Benjamin Emanuel, born Benjamin Auerbach, the father of Rahm Emanuel and TKO CEO Ari Emanuel, before laying out the connection he believes exists between the family and WWE.

“𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧: Benjamin Auerbach (later changed his last name to Emanuel) was a known Jewish terrorist who fathered Rahm Emanuel and Ari Emanuel.

🔯 Benjamin Auerbach = Jewish terrorist absorbed into the IDF

🔯 Rahm Emanuel = Jewish American politician

🔯 Ari Emanuel = Jewish American businessman(TKO/UFC/WWE)”

Venis then returned to another claim he has been pushing recently, alleging that the CIA and Mossad were actually behind September 11: “🔯 CIA/Mossad did 9/11 while blaming Muslims.” He eventually brought everything back around to Zayn’s championship victory, claiming the date and Zayn’s religion carried a much bigger meaning.

“25 years to the day of the Jewish attack on America, the son of Jewish terrorist Benjamin Auerbach put the WWE title on Sami Zayn, a Muslim man. STAY TUNED!”

Venis provided no evidence connecting Zayn’s title win, his religion or Ari Emanuel’s family to the September 11 attacks. There is also no evidence supporting his claim that 9/11 was a “Jewish attack” carried out by the CIA and Mossad. The attacks were carried out by 19 al-Qaeda hijackers.

Zayn’s actual path to the championship was considerably less complicated than the theory Venis built around it. His September 11 match with Punk fell apart after Candice LeRae, Johnny Gargano and Kevin Owens all became involved, with Owens accidentally hitting Punk with the championship.

Zayn took advantage, eventually hitting Punk with the Helluva Kick to become a two-time WWE Champion. Venis apparently needed less than that to find another story in the result. One championship change, one date and Zayn’s religion were enough for him to turn WWE booking into his latest 9/11 conspiracy theory.
