WWE SmackDown Results (9/11/26): Live Match Updates and Highlights
The show opens up with Michael Cole and Wade Barrett welcoming us as we see the pre-show arrivals of Sami Zayn and Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk.
Randy Orton’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. We then get a video package recapping the Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes match from Sunday Night’s Main Event. The WWE Universe then erupts with “Randy ” chants. Orton then grabs a mic and starts off by asking the WWE Universe, “What do you wanna talk about?” Orton then says he wants to talk about Cody Rhodes. Orton then gloats about beating Rhodes in front of his family. Orton then says Cody Rhodes showed the entire world exactly who he is. Orton then says he doesn’t think Cody Rhodes is a killer. Orton then says Cody Rhodes is a good man, good father, good husband and a good friend.
Orton then says it takes a lot to put down a legend. Orton then says Cody Rhodes’ soul is not for sale. Orton then says he is however a killer. Orton then says if anybody comes in between him and his 15th World Title, he won’t hesitate to pull the trigger. Orton then says he’s coming for the Undisputed WWE Champion after tonight with the three most dangerous letters in sports entertainment R.K.O.
We then see Nick Aldis and Chelsea Green in the backstage area. Aldis tells Green if she gets hurt, he will have no choice but to take the WWE Women’s Championship off her. Green then walks into Tiffany Stratton. Stratton then promises to be in her corner tonight. Stratton then says she is going to make sure Lash Legend doesn’t get involved.
Rey Fenix is then shown walking in the backstage area. He will be in action next.
We then get a video package for the attacks on September 11, 2001.
Ricky Saints is now in the ring for the first match of the night and Rey Fenix makes his way down to the ring.
AAA World Cruiserweight Championship Match: Rey Fenix (c) vs. “Absolute” Ricky Saints
The match starts off with Rey Fenix hitting a hurricanrana. Fenix then hits a chop and he follows it up with a dropkick. Fenix then hits a poisonrana. Ricky Saints then hits Fenix with a Revolution DDT. Saints then tries to rip off Fenix’s mask. Fenix then tries to fight back, but Saints launches him for a near fall. The fight then spills to the outside. Saints then hits Fenix with a series of chops. Saints then tosses Fenix over the barricade. Back in the ring, Saints continues the beatdown on Fenix. Saints then goes on the top rope and he hits an old school. Both men are now up on the top rope. Fenix is then looking to turn things around and gain the upper hand. Fenix then hits a hurricanrana from the top rope.
