GUNTHER walked into SmackDown looking for another Undisputed WWE Championship reign, but he left Kansas City with an even bigger problem on his hands. In the end, fans saw a new match booked for Night of Champions.
After coming up short against Cody Rhodes in controversial fashion, The Ring General found himself once again dealing with Sami Zayn.
GUNTHER wasn’t interested in talking about the championship afterward. Instead, he demanded a match against Sami Zayn at Night of Champions after being screwed out of the title twice in one night. However, Cody Rhodes had another idea. The American Nightmare approached Nick Aldis later in the show and suggested that both men be added to the title match.
Aldis agreed to the match, which made it official for Night of Champions on June 27 in Riyadh. Cody Rhodes will now defend the Undisputed WWE Championship in a Triple Threat Match against GUNTHER and Sami Zayn.
