WWE SmackDown Results (6/19/26): Live Match Updates and Highlights
The show opens up with Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett welcoming us as we see the pre-show arrivals of Cody Rhodes, GUNTHER, Sami Zayn, Liv Morgan, Je’Von Evans, Jey Uso, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair.
We then take a look at the Undisputed WWE Championship picture with a video package. This will be the opening match of the night and it will be commercial-free.
Sami Zayn makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night and he receives a chorus of boos. GUNTHER then makes his way down to the ring next and Cody Rhodes follows.
Undisputed WWE Championship Match (Special Guest Referee: Sami Zayn): “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes (c) vs. “The Ring General” GUNTHER
The match starts off with both men locking up and GUNTHER drops Cody Rhodes and targets his left arm. Rhodes then fights back with a right hand, but GUNTHER nails Rhodes with a series of chops. Rhodes then fights back again, but Sami Zayn tries to hold him back, allowing GUNTHER to hit a big boot. GUNTHER then gets a lateral press for a near fall. GUNTHER then drives his elbow down into the center of his Rhodes’ forehead. Rhodes then hits GUNTHER with a Cody Cutter. Rhodes then follows it up with a powerslam. GUNTHER then chops Rhodes down from behind. He then applies a Figure-4 in the middle of the ring. Rhodes then goes for a quick roll-up, but runs into a boot. GUNTHER then follows it up with a lariat for a near fall.
GUNTHER then goes for a Powerbomb, but Rhodes counters with a Cross Rhodes. Rhodes then gets into an argument with Zayn. GUNTHER then applies a Sleeper Hold from behind and Rhodes makes it to the ropes to break the hold. GUNTHER then shoves Zayn and powerbombs him. Rhodes then hits a Super Cutter to GUNTHER and he follows it up with a Cross Rhodes. A new referee then comes down to the ring, but fails to make a three count. Both men are now battling it out on the top rope. GUNTHER then hits a missile dropkick and he follows it up with a Powerbomb. Zayn then drags out the new referee to break the fall. Back in the ring, Zayn hits a Helluva Kick to GUNTHER, allowing Rhodes to get a victory with a quick roll-up.

After the match, we see Nick Aldis confronting Sami Zayn on his way to the back. Aldis is irate over Zayn’s officiating. GUNTHER then walks off angrily.
We then see GUNTHER arguing with Nick Aldis backstage. Cody Rhodes then makes his way back to the ring and asks to restart the match. GUNTHER then lays waste to Zayn. Cody Rhodes vs. GUNTHER for the Undisputed WWE Championship has been restarted with a new referee.
Undisputed WWE Championship Match: “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes (c) vs. “The Ring General” GUNTHER
The match starts off with both men locking up and exchanging strikes in the middle of the ring. GUNTHER then applies a Sleeper Hold. Rhodes then tries to fight out of it and he breaks free and applies a Sleeper Hold on GUNTHER. Sami Zayn then makes his way back to the ring and he hits GUNTHER with a Helluva Kick. Zayn then knocks out the referee. He then hits Rhodes in the head with the Undisputed WWE Championship and the referee calls for the bell.

After the match, Sami Zayn throws down the belt and he utters a word that the network doesn’t approve. Cody Rhodes then sits in the ring, not certain of what is going on.
We then take a look back at what happened with Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill.
We then see Cathy Kelley ask Jade Cargill where her focus is. Jade then asks if there is a problem. Jade then says she does what she wants. Jade then says they run the division. Jade then says they will take a pit stop at Tiffany Stratton. B-Fab then asks why did Tiffany get involved when she isn’t in Queen of the Ring. Michin then says Charlotte Flair took Jade’s spot. Jade then challenges Tiffany for the Women’s United States Title at Night of Champions.
We then see GUNTHER walk up to Nick Aldis and GUNTHER says he was screwed over twice. GUNTHER then says he doesn’t think Nick Aldis is fit for his job. GUNTHER then says he wants a rematch at Night of Champions.
We then take a look at the King of the Ring tournament match from last week.
We then head to the backstage with Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu is here. Sikoa says the answer is still no. Fatu then says he is here to make sure nobody gets involved in Jey Uso’s King of the Ring Semifinals. Fatu then says he thinks Sikoa is making the wrong decision. Fatu then says The OTC isn’t going to wait too long. Fatu then says Sikoa is running out of time to make the right choice. Tama Tonga then walks up to Sikoa and asks him about Fatu. Sikoa then explains everything. He then says he wants the Tag Team Championship match. Tonga then tells Sikoa to stay back since his family business is starting to mess with their family business. Tama Tonga then says he doesn’t know who Sikoa is out there for. Talla Tonga then says all they care about are the tag titles.
We then see Blake Monroe and she says she met Giulia before in the Land of the Rising Sun. Blake then says she knew that Giulia would get to the dance. Blake then says you forgot your step and it has clouded your vision. Blake then tells her not to cry when she passes Giulia.
Damian Priest and R-Truth then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga follow.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Damian Priest and R-Truth (c) vs. MFT (Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga)
The match starts off with Damian Priest and Talla Tonga and both men lock up. Priest then hits a series of right hands. Priest then hits Talla with a couple of forearms. Talla then hits Priest with a shoulder tackle. Talla then corners Tama Tonga and tags Tama Tonga in. Priest then hits a flying elbow. Priest then hits several right hands on Tama in the corner. R-Truth then comes in. R-Truth then hits Tama with a Splash. R-Truth then hits a series of shoulder tackles and he follows it up with a Five Knuckle Shuffle. R-Truth then goes for an AA, but Talla distracts him, allowing Tama to send R-Truth to the outside. R-Truth then runs into a big boot. Priest then launches himself off the steel steps, but Talla plants him on the apron.
Tama then sends R-Truth back into the ring and pounds away at him. Talla then gets the tag. Talla then continues the beatdown on R-Truth. Tama then applies a Half Boston Crab on R-Truth, targeting his lower back. R-Truth then tries to fight back, but Tama regains control. Tama then applies a rear chin lock in the middle of the ring and the WWE Universe tries to rally R-Truth. Priest then comes in. Priest then hits a series of right hands to Tama. Priest then hits Tama with a spinning heel kick. Priest then knocks Talla off the apron. Damian then hits a Splash to Tama in the corner and he follows it up with a Flat Liner for a near fall.
Talla then goes for a Chokeslam, but Priest sends him over the top rope. Tama then hits Priest with a Snap Neck Breaker. Solo Sikoa then makes his way down to the ring and Priest takes him out. He then sends Talla into the ring post. R-Truth then gets the win with a quick roll-up.

After the match, Solo Sikoa then gets on the apron, but the MFTs walk away from him.
We then see Sami Zayn and he says the hardest thing to do is stay true to yourself. We then see he is talking to Johnny Gargano. Zayn then says half give up for doing one thing, but he loses the other half. Nick Aldis then yells at Sami Zayn for the fast count. Aldis asks what Zayn was thinking. Zayn says he was asked to be the referee. Zayn then says he called it down the middle. Zayn then says GUNTHER power bombed him. Zayn then says you didn’t trust him. Zayn then says you thought he would screw over Cody Rhodes, but he didn’t. Zayn then says Nick is probably happy that Cody is still champion. Zayn then says Cody should be thanking him because he is the reason he is still champion. Zayn then says he is not going away that easily.
We then see Jey Uso is in the back and he says he is blazing past Je’Von Evans and he will blaze past Oba Femi to win King of the Ring. Evans then stops Jey and he says he sees Jey looking past him, but he is a big fan. Jey then says he will slap the taste out of Evans’ mouth.
Carmelo Hayes then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Ricky Saints follows.
WWE United States Championship #1 Contender’s Match: Carmelo Hayes vs. “Absolute” Ricky Saints
The match starts off with Ricky Saints going for a cheap shot, but Carmelo Hayes hits him with a springboard clothesline. Saints then goes for old school, but Hayes counters and wipes out Saints. Hayes then heads to the top rope and launches himself, but Saints moves out of harm’s way. Saints then hits an upper cut and he follows it up with a running bulldog. Saints is now back in control. Hayes then hits Saints with a DDT on the apron. Back in the ring, Hayes pounds away at Saints in the corner. Hayes then hits a Snap Suplex for a near fall. Saints then sends Hayes’ throat right into the ropes. Saints then hits Hayes with a delayed vertical suplex for a near fall.
Saints then bites Hayes’ hands. Saints then slams Hayes down and hits him with a knee. Saints then applies a rear chin lock on Hayes in the middle of the ring. Hayes then tries to fight back, but Saints hits him with a back suplex. Hayes then counters Saints’ running bulldog with a back suplex. Saints then runs into a big boot. Hayes then hits Saints with a springboard DDT for another near fall. Hayes then hits a series of right hands. Hayes then sends Saints to the corner. Hayes then goes for Dirty Diana, but Saints counters with a pinning combination. Saints then hits Hayes with Flapjack for a two count. Hayes then denies a Roshambo attempt from Saints and both men are down following a collision.
Hayes then hits Saints with a Dirty Diana and he follows it up with a cutter for a near fall. Hayes then heads to the top rope and launches himself, but Saints moves out of harm’s way. Hayes then goes for a First 48, but Saints catches him mid-air and puts him on the top rope. Saints then trips Hayes up onto the exposed turnbuckle. Saints then goes for a Roshambo again, but Hayes counters with a First 48. Saints then shoves Hayes into the exposed turnbuckle again and gets a pin for the win.

We then see Nick Aldis is on the phone and Cody Rhodes enters the room. Nick says he is working on a solution. Cody then says Sami can be a lot, but he is tired of catering to GUNTHER and Sami. Cody then says he wants to beat them both in a Triple Threat Match at Night of Champions and Nick makes it official.
We then see Cathy Kelley with Charlotte Flair. Cathy asks Charlotte about being Queen of the Ring if she wins. Charlotte says she has done it all, but the hunger has never faded. Charlotte then says she has not won a title in a few years. Charlotte then says she has proven that she is the queen with or without the queen of the ring crown. Charlotte then says if she wins tonight and beats IYO SKY, she will wear the crown again. Charlotte then says she will show why she is the queen, then, now and forever.
We then look at the Danhausen stuff with the New York Knicks even if he wasn’t there for the parade. Danhausen is with The Miz and Kit Wilson and he checks to see if they are fixed. Angel and Berto then show up and they say that Danhausen was supposed to curse the Knicks so they lost thousands of dollars. Matt Cardona then says he lost his watch, but you don’t see him complaining because his team won. Danhausen then thanks Zack Ryder and Matt checks on Miz and Kit and Matt throws out some Zack catchphrases.
We then see Finn Bálor and he congratulates R-Truth on his win last week. Truth then says they have gotten ahead of themselves and Finn says it was what Truth said. Truth then says he has an idea for a title match for Finn. Priest then shows up and he is not happy to see Finn. Priest then says whatever celebration you are setting up, don’t include him because he doesn’t go places with people he doesn’t trust.
We then see how Sami Zayn benefitted from his questionable behaviour tonight to get an Undisputed WWE Title Match at Night of Champions.
Jey Uso then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Je’Von Evans follows.
King of the Ring Tournament Semifinal Match: The Bloodline’s “Main Event” Jey Uso vs. “The Young OG” Je’Von Evans
The match starts off with both men locking up. Jey Uso then applies a side headlock, but Je’Von Evans fights out of it. Uso then shoves Evans, but Evans hits Uso with a standing dropkick. Uso then rolls out of the ring. Back in the ring, Evans hits Uso with another dropkick. Evans then launches himself over the top rope, wiping out Uso. Back in the ring, Uso offers Evans a handshake, but Evans hits him with a big right hand. Evans then hits several right hands on Uso in the corner. Uso then trips Evans up and gives him the taste of his own medicine. Evans then hits another standing dropkick for a near fall.
Evans then hits a big uppercut to Uso and he follows it up with a flying crossbody for another near fall. Uso. then tries to fight back, but Evans hits him with a boot. Evans then follows it up with a snap suplex. Evans then hits a thunderous chop to Uso. Uso then hits Evans with a Samoan Drop. Uso then targets Evans’ busted ribs. Evans then tries to fight back, but Uso hits him with a right hand. He then follows it up with a backbreaker. Uso then sends Evans flying into the barricade. The fight then spills to the outside. Uso then sends Evans into the barricade again. Uso then hits a suicide dive.
Evans then beats the count. Uso then sends him to the outside again. Evans then hits Uso with a superkick and sends him into the timekeeper’s area. Evans then flies over the barricade, wiping out Uso. Back in the ring, Uso hits Evans with a superkick for a near fall. Uso then heads to the top rope, but Evans cuts him off. Evans then hits a Spanish Fly and both men are down. Evans then goes for a cover, but Uso kicks out at two. Both men then trade strikes in the middle of the ring. Both men then exchange superkicks and both men are down and out. Uso then superkicks Evans and he follows it up with a Spear for a near fall. Uso then goes for another Spear, but Evans hits a superkick. Evans then hits a Red Dot. He then goes for an OG Cutter, but Uso trips him up. Uso then hits Evans with a Spear and he follows it up with a Splash for the win.

After the match, Jey Uso helps Je’Von Evans up and shakes his hand. Uso then raises Evans’ hand and leaves the ring.
We then see Jacob Fatu watching this on the monitor. Solo Sikoa then walks up to him and says he got it all figured out. Sikoa then says Roman Reigns sent him here so Fatu can get in his head and stick his nose in his business. Sikoa then says if Roman Reigns continues to mess with his family, he will come to his show to start messing with The Bloodline.
We then see Giulia and she says many areas started her career. Giulia then says she got real with Kiana James in her father’s home land of Italy. Giulia then says next week SmackDown is in the city she was born London. Giulia then says it is time that she and Kiana end this. Giulia then says in London we will see who is best without the other.
We then see Cathy Kelley asks Tiffany Stratton about Jade Cargill’s challenge. Tiffany says Jade is desperate and she doesn’t need side kicks like Jade. Chelsea Green then shows up and she talks about how she is by Tiffany’s side. Tiffany then asks for some time alone with Green and she says that Green has been tormenting her for a year and now she wants to be her friend. Tiffany then says she does not want to work with Green.
We then get the NXT Origins feature on Alexa Bliss.
We then see Liv Morgan and she says Charlotte Flair wants to be Queen of the Ring. Morgan then says it is a shame it ends tonight. Morgan then says you are the past. Morgan then says this tournament is to prove who is the best of the best. Morgan then says it is not you any more. Morgan then says she will show what happens when you are in the presence of the greatest women’s champion of all time and the first champion to become Queen of the Ring.
We then see Brie Bella and she says it has been non-stop since WrestleMania and it hasn’t been easy. Paige then says they overcame the odds to become champions and they will need to do it on Monday against Lyra and Bayley. She then says they are two of the best to grace the ring, but Paige says they are up for the challenge. Brie then says they respect Lyra and Bayley, but they will win on Monday.
We then see Fatal Influence in the backstage area. Jacy Jayne says things didn’t go as planned last week. Jayne then says she holds the referee responsible for throwing her out. Jayne then says she thinks the rules don’t apply to so-called legends. Fallon Henley then says she can’t believe Paige and Brie Bella think they’re better than them. Lainey Reid then calls them pathetic and says they have Paige and Brie exactly where they wanted them to be. She then says if Paige and Brie walk out of RAW as the Still WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Fatal Influence will be waiting for them. Jayne then says she will talk to Nick Aldis and get a match against Paige next week in London. Jayne then says she will embarrass Paige in front of her family.
We then see Cody Rhodes congratulate Jey Uso in the back. Cody says one to go. Jey then says it will be him and Cody at SummerSlam. Cody then reminds him about Oba and says he is easy to find. Sami then asks Jey how is he doing. Jey then says he is doing good and he asks Sami about himself. Sami then says Jey is doing great and he thinks he will win King of the Ring and face the champion at SummerSlam, but it will not be Cody, it will be him. He then says what happens when that takes place. Jey then says he will do what he has to do. Sami then tells Jey to say hi to the family for him.
We then see Jade Cargill, B-Fab and Michin greet Charlotte Flair in the back and Jade tells Charlotte won the match because of Tiffany. Charlotte then says Tiffany is not her friend. She then tells Jade she can be in Queen of the Ring next year and she can get moving. Fab then hits Flair from behind and Michin holds the leg while Jade kicks Flair. Alexa Bliss then checks on her best friend.
We then see a recap of what just happened to Charlotte. Charlotte says she is fine. Liv Morgan then walks past Charlotte and she chortles and says she will see Charlotte out there.
Liv Morgan then makes her way down to the ring for the main event of the night. We then see Charlotte Flair telling Nick Aldis that she got it. Flair then tell the production team to play her music and she limps her way down to the ring for the main event.
Queen of the Ring Tournament Semifinal Match: “The Queen” Charlotte Flair vs. The Judgment Day’s WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan
The match starts off with Liv Morgan hitting a baseball slide to knock Charlotte Flair off the apron. Flair then refuses medical attention. Nick Aldis then tells Flair to think about her future and Flair says she has no choice. Flair then avoids Morgan in the corner and she clotheslines Morgan. Morgan then dives at the knee and she takes Flair down. Morgan then kicks Flair to the floor and she sends the injured leg into the apron. Morgan then sends Flair into the ring steps. Back in the ring, Flair hits an elbow. Flair then knocks Morgan off the apron. Morgan then continues to target Flair’s left knee.
Morgan then goes for a cover, but Flair kicks out at two. Morgan then hits a snap suplex, sending Flair’s injured leg onto the ropes. Flair then counters with a snap suplex of her own. She then heads to the top rope and hits a crossbody for a near fall. Both women then trade strikes in the middle of the ring. Flair then hits her Flair chops to Morgan. Morgan then tosses Flair across the ring. Morgan then runs into a big boot. Flair then collapses. Morgan then targets Flair’s left leg again. Morgan then launches herself off the top rope, but Flair catches her with a big boot.
Morgan then hits a powerbomb and she stacks Flair up, but Flair kicks out. Morgan then applies a Half Boston Crab on the top rope. Flair then rolls out of the ring. Morgan then tries to slam Flair onto the announce desk, but Flair sends Morgan’s head onto the desk. Morgan then sends Flair into the post. Back in the ring, Morgan goes for an Oblivion, but Flair counters with a German Suplex for a near fall. Morgan then targets Flair’s knee again and hits the three amigos. She then follows it up with a kick. Flair then tries to fight through a leg injury. Morgan then launches herself off the top rope, but Flair gets her knees up.
Flair then hits a backbreaker to Morgan. Morgan then hits a chop block on Flair’s left knee. Morgan then runs into a big boot. Flair then hits a Natural Selection from the top rope for a near fall. Flair then applies a Figure-8 with her busted leg and Morgan tries to fight out of it. Morgan then tries to reverse it, but Flair locks her in again. Morgan then makes it to the ropes to force a break. Morgan then hits another chop block to the back of the damaged knee. She then applies a Single Leg Boston Crab. Flair then makes it to the ropes, but the damage has already been done. Nick Aldis is then out with the medical team to stop Flair, but she isn’t giving up yet. Morgan then hits Flair with an Oblivion, but Flair kicks out at two. Morgan then applies a Single Leg Boston Crab again and Flair taps out.
