Triple H gave Chad Gable his flowers after the hometown star finally captured singles gold at SummerSlam 2026.
Gable forced Penta to tap out in Minneapolis to win the Intercontinental Championship, ending years of frustration and giving him the first singles title of his WWE career. After the match, Triple H posted a backstage photo with Gable holding the championship and pointed directly to the long road it took to get there.

The win came after Gable survived a physical fight with Penta and kept going back to the ankle lock until the champion had nowhere left to go. Once the hold was locked in for the final time, Penta tapped and the hometown crowd exploded.
Gable had spent years being pushed in different directions, but SummerSlam finally gave him the moment that had always slipped away. He walked into the show chasing his first singles championship and left with the Intercontinental Title.
Triple H’s post put the focus on exactly what the victory meant. This was not just another title change. It was Gable finally getting his payoff in front of the people who wanted to see it most.
