Lil Yachty’s WWE run might not be stopping at appearance, because now there’s talk of him actually stepping into the ring, and he’s serious about it.
After spending the past month alongside Trick Williams as his hype man, Yachty has already gotten physically involved, including taking a Helluva Kick from Sami Zayn during the WrestleMania 42 build. He also played a role in Williams’ United States Title win, making it clear he’s not just there for appearances.
Speaking on What’s Your Story? podcast with Stephanie McMahon, Williams revealed that Yachty is serious about taking the next step, and that means actually wrestling. Williams explained that Yachty has been fully invested behind the scenes, even going as far as wanting to train properly and earn his spot rather than just jumping in.
“He says, ‘Trick, I can’t believe they let me do WrestleMania with you.’ He says, ‘I ain’t gonna take shortcuts—I wanna go to Del Mar, I wanna be one of the boys. I love this business, I’ve been watching this for years.’ He wants to be one of the boys!”
Williams then gave more insight into their conversations, revealing that Yachty’s interest isn’t casual, it’s something they’ve talked about seriously, even outside WWE settings.
“We talk, man—2 o’clock in the morning—Aye, Yachty, that’s my boy, man. We both have a desire for excellence—we want everything we do to feel like magic. Everything has to feel real to the people.”
Finally, Williams made it clear this isn’t just talk: Yachty actively wants a match, and they’re already thinking about how to make it happen.
“He loves it, and he says he wants to have a match—you heard it here first. Yachty wants to have a match, man. He’ll get in shape, and we’re gonna do this. Let’s make it happen.”
So in the end, Lil Yachty isn’t just dipping his toes into WWE. If this plays out, he could be the next celebrity to step fully into the ring, and unlike most, he’s talking about doing it the right way.
Do you think Lil Yachty should actually wrestle a match in WWE, or should he stick to appearances alongside Trick Williams? Sound off in the comments.
