The criminal case involving the man accused of stalking WWE star Liv Morgan is finally moving toward trial.
Shawn Chan, the Canadian man accused of traveling to Florida and showing up at Morgan’s home before later being arrested at the WWE Performance Center, is now scheduled to stand trial on June 15 at 9:00 a.m. in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida in Tampa.
The trial was initially expected to take place in March but has been delayed multiple times. According to court records, the case is now scheduled as a stipulated facts bench trial, meaning there will be no jury and many of the facts in the case have already been agreed upon by both sides, limiting the need for witness testimony.
Chan is facing one count of interstate domestic violence stemming from allegations that he traveled from Canada to Florida and spent hours at Morgan’s residence last year.
According to federal prosecutors, Chan flew from Scarborough, Ontario to Orlando on May 26, 2025, the same day he obtained a passport. Upon arriving in Florida, authorities allege he told customs officials he planned to stay at the WWE Performance Center despite the facility not offering housing accommodations.
Four days later, investigators say Chan traveled to Morgan’s home, circled the property multiple times, entered through the backyard, and attempted to gain access through the front door. Prosecutors allege he remained at the residence for several hours before leaving.
Federal authorities also allege Chan left behind a handwritten note containing his name, Canadian address, and phone number. In the note, Chan wrote:
“It’s me Shawn the guy you all hang out with on [gaming platform deleted] online. You’ve been trying to contact me, or should I say reach out to me when I’m absent from that game. So who’s the stalker huh?! I NEVER said and did anything bad for over 10 years, yet you all dared hating me for no reason.”
“I came here to pay just a friendly visit, nothing more. Yet, I’m the one who looks like a stalker thx to all of you. And you all think I’m going to have empathy, sympathy and care about any of you anymore? I will start talking and doing whatever I want despite all your shoosh finger faces that you all make. Yea, I just wanted to let you know that I was here.”
According to the criminal complaint, Chan was arrested by the FBI on June 3, 2025, after WWE security personnel allegedly recognized him from surveillance footage taken at Morgan’s residence and alerted authorities.
Chan was later indicted on June 25 and has remained in custody since his arrest. Court records show he has made multiple attempts to secure release ahead of trial, but those efforts have been unsuccessful. More recently, he sought to pursue an insanity defense as part of the proceedings. If convicted, Chan faces up to five years in federal prison.
With the trial now set to move forward after months of delays, the case may soon provide answers about one of the most disturbing incidents involving a WWE performer in recent years.
