TNA may be cutting people loose, but someone inside the company is saying this is not because the promotion is broke. That is the big twist coming out of the latest round of exits, because a TNA source is now claiming the company is actually profitable under Anthem.
According to Fightful Select, at least one TNA source claimed the company is now profitable under Anthem. Fightful also noted that there is no real way to verify that without seeing the details of TNA’s TV deal.
“At least one TNA source claimed to Fightful that the company is now profitable under Anthem. We have no real way of verifying that without the details of the TV deal.”
That is the line that matters, because TNA just went through a workforce reduction. Anthem confirmed the cuts and said the move was about streamlining operations while sharpening strategy and profitability.
“TNA Wrestling announced a workforce reduction, designed to streamline operations and sharpen strategic focus and profitability.”
So, according to the company side, this is not a collapse. It is a cleanup job. TNA is trimming down, shifting focus, and trying to run leaner. Still, that profitability claim is going to raise eyebrows. Some people in TNA have questioned how much money the company is actually making from the AMC TV deal if cuts are still happening. That does not mean the company is losing money, but it does make the financial picture worth watching.
The recent departures included Tommy Dreamer, who had been working in creative and talent relations, and Tessa Blanchard, who was released from the company. Anthem also wished “Tessa, Tommy and others” well, making it clear the cuts went beyond just the two biggest names.
