AEW Grand Slam Mexico Results (8/5/2026): Live Match Updates and Highlights
The show opens up with Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness welcoming us as Adam Copeland makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night. Christian Cage then makes his way down to the ring next and The Young Bucks follow.
The Death Riders then make their way down to the ring for the first match of the night through the crowd. Commentary then talks about Jon Moxley defending his title in the upcoming Continental Cup tournament and we get this match underway.
8-Man Tag Team Match: AEW World Tag Team Champions Cage & Cope (Christian Cage and “The Rated R Superstar” Adam Copeland) and The Elite’s The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) vs. The Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, “The Bastard” PAC and Daniel Garcia)
The match starts off with PAC and Christian Cage and Cage wrings the arms of PAC, only to take a sneak attack by Wheeler Yuta on the apron. This then quickly devolves into chaos as all the other six men rush in to go at it, but the Death Riders get cleared out of the ring as Cage and the Young Bucks triple team PAC in the corner with a kick and spear combination. The action then fully spills to the outside as the Young Bucks get into it with the remaining members of the Death Riders, leading to a big dive from Cage as Copeland watches on with a smile from the apron. Yuta then hits a German suplex to Nick and Garcia cinches in a Dragon Slayer on him.
PAC then holds off Matt, but Matt breaks free to break up the Dragon Slayer. Nick then sends Yuta and Garcia crashing into one another and hits a double arm drag to the off the top rope, but Copeland tags in and nails Moxley and PAC with a double clothesline. Matt and Nick then fly out of the ring to nails Garcia and Yuta on the outside, with Copeland hitting an Impaler to Moxley back inside the ring. He then sets up for a spear, but Marina Shafir rakes Copeland’s head. Cage then pulls Shafir off the ring apron and low blows her, but Yuta and Garcia double team on Cage back inside the ring.
Everyone then continues brawling with one another, but Copeland rolls up Moxley. Moxley then kicks out, but the referee is distracted by Yuta as Copeland spears Moxley and pins him. The referee then misses the fall, but PAC tags in and Copeland accidentally knocks Matt on the ring apron. This then opens the door for Moxley to roll up Copeland for the win.

We then get a video package on Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay heading into their bout for the AEW World Championship at All In. The promo from last week is the main focus here, with Omega mad about happened at Redemption with the Death Riders. The promo and video package ends with Ospreay promising Omega that when he’s ready to pull the trigger, Omega will see it coming.
Tommaso Ciampa then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Komander and Andrade El Ídolo follow.
3-Way Match (For The #1 Spot In The All In: London Casino Gauntlet): “The Psycho Killer” Tommaso Ciampa vs. Andrade El Ídolo vs. Komander
The match starts off with all three men in the ring. Ciampa then climbs the turnbuckle, mocking the crowd booing him. Ciampa then confronts Andrade back in the center, before blindsiding Komander to send him out of the ring. Andrade then catches him off guard, sending him to the corner before setting up for a Meteora. Komander then sends Andrade out of the ring before going at it with Ciampa, eventually sending him out of the ring for a rope walk into the spaceman dive. He then brings Andrade back into the ring, but Andrade goes at it with him before sending Komander to the outside for a dive of his own. Andrade then takes a selfie with a fan in the front row.
Andrade then hits The Three Amigos to Komander and climbs up the ropes. Ciampa then trips him up and sends Komander out of the ring. Ciampa then hits a lungblower to Komander and goes for a pin. Komander then kicks out, but Andrade hits a chop to Ciampa as Ciampa climbs up the ropes and joins them. Komander then hits a reverse hurricanrana to Andrade off the ropes, but Ciampa nails Komander with a White Noise off the ropes and goes for a pin. Komander then kicks out before Andrade hits a Dia De Los Mortos on Ciampa while aiming for Komander. Komander then walks the top rope and hits a Shooting Star Press to Ciampa, but Andrade hits Komander with a DM and pins him for the win.

After the match, Andrade grabs a microphone and speaks to the live crowd in Spanish as he tells them that he’s home. He then says he’s proud to be National Champion and he’s going to win the All In Casino Gauntlet Match. He then says if anyone thinks he can’t win the All In Casino Gauntlet Match or win the AEW World Championship, he has one question: how you know.
MJF’s music then hits and he makes his way out. He then sneaks up behind Andrade and hits him with his old custom AEW World Championship belt. MJF then takes his Dynamite Diamond Ring back and hits Andrade with it. He then jams the Dynamite Diamond Ring into Andrade’s head and delivers right hands on him, then dumps him off the entrance ramp to send him crashing into Komander on the floor.
Andrade then gets checked on by medical officials as MJF calls himself an American hero and the best professional wrestler in the world. MJF then claims to be the AEW World Champion and says if the fans don’t believe him, he had Kenny Omega and their AEW World Championship won at Dynamite: Beach Break until Will Ospreay got involved. MJF then says the main event of All In was his and there will be a match next week to determine the #2 entrant in the All In Casino Gauntlet Match that he intends to enter. MJF then reiterates that he feels as though he’s the rightful AEW World Champion. MJF then raises his Triple B as his music hits and MJF rushes his way through the crowd who start to get into it with him.
We then get a video package on the AEW Women’s World Champion at All In: London.
Divine Dominion then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Mercedes Moné follows. The Brawling Birds and Willow Nightingale then make their way down to the ring next.
Trios Match: AEW Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale and The Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter) vs. “The CEO” Mercedes Moné and AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion (“The Megasus” Megan Bayne and Lena Kross)
The match starts off with Mercedes Moné refusing to get in the ring with Willow Nightingale as Megan Bayne begins things with her instead. Despite an early advantage by Bayne, Nightingale is able to fight back long enough to tag in Alex Windsor. Lena Kross then comes in for an assist before Nightingale tags back in, only to be blindsided by Moné. Moné then goes for a Three Amigos, but things quickly break down as all six women get into it. A chain suplex then leads to Divine Dominion being taken to the outside. Windsor and Nightingale then hit a couple of cannonball sentons as Hayter sends Moné to the outside. She then goes up top and hits a cross body on all three of her opponents.
Back in the ring are Moné and Nightingale, with Nightingale taking Moné down hard. Tags are then made, but chaos quickly ensues as Divine Dominion and the Brawling Birds fight it out, with Bayne being sent out before Hayter gets the drop on Kross. Windsor then gets a blind tag and the cover, but Bayne breaks up the pin by shoving Hayter into her. The Brawling Birds and Divine Dominion then slug it out when they get back on their feet and the Brawling Birds hit the ropes for a clothesline. Divine Dominion then duck, but they get taken down by the Brawling Birds anyway. In come Nightingale and Moné to fight some more, with a chain of offense from each of the six women leading to a Death Valley Driver from Nightingale to Bayne.
She then turns her attention to Moné on the turnbuckle, who fights her way out before taking a clothesline from Nightingale. Divine Dominion then stop her from going after Moné before the Brawling Birds send them out of the ring. Moné then escapes the Babe with the Powerbomb, but Nightingale counters out of a Moné Maker for a backslide and she gets the win.

After the match, the trio celebrates on the ramp and we get a graphic confirming that the Brawling Birds will face Divine Dominion at All In for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship. Divine Dominion and Moné then stare down their opponents from inside the ring as commentary hypes up All In coming back to Wembley Stadium.
Mike Bailey then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Kyle Fletcher follows with Don Callis.
AEW International Championship Match: Don Callis Family’s “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey
The match starts off with Mike Bailey hitting a flurry of offense as he tries to take Kyle Fletcher off his game, but only gets a near fall as a result. Crowd is then thrilled by what’s going down as Bailey grabs the hand of Fletcher, walking the ropes for a headscissors sending Fletcher out of the ring. Bailey then goes for a dive but gets caught in mid-air by Fletcher, who practically launches Bailey like a lawn dart into the guardrail. Don Callis then gets some hate from the crowd as Fletcher brings Bailey back into the ring. He then goes for a powerbomb but Bailey counters, eventually sending Fletcher out of the ring.
He then gets a dive on Fletcher before going up top, but Fletcher stops Bailey by coming back into the ring only to take some hard kicks from Bailey, who follows it up with a shooting star press off the canvas for a near fall. The action then heads to the corner as Bailey catches Fletcher by surprise, only to be dropped to the mat with an avalanche Michinoku Driver. Fletcher then gets a close two count for this, with Bailey rolling out of the ring. Despite returning to the ring, Bailey is quickly sent back out by Fletcher who gets caught on a dive to the outside, sent into the guardrail himself this time.
Bailey then gets back to his feet, bringing Fletcher back into the ring. He then hits the ropes, dodging an attack by Fletcher to pin him down for a two count. Fletcher then gets back into it, dropping Bailey hard before looking for a brainbuster. Bailey then gets sent to the outside for trying to break free, landing on the ramp. Fletcher then brings Bailey to his feet before walking him to the entrance stairs but Bailey counters out of a suplex attempt, eventually dropping Fletcher to the ramp instead. Now it’s Bailey in control as he brings Fletcher back to the ring, getting the drop on him for a close two count.
Both men then get to their feet, but Fletcher is taken to the corner with a thrust kick only to fight back with a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. As all this is going down, we get on and off “este lucha (this is wrestling)” chants. The action then spills out to the outside, where Fletcher drops Bailey on the apron with a powerbomb before bringing him back into the ring. Brainbuster then hits, but Bailey manages to kick out at two. Fletcher can’t seem to believe it as he goes after Bailey in the corner, only for Bailey to fend him off before hitting an Ultima Weapon on Fletcher.
Bailey then goes for a cover, but this time it’s Fletcher with a surprise kickout. Bailey then brings him to his feet, but Fletcher breaks free before sending Bailey into the turnbuckle face first. He then follows it up with a turnbuckle brainbuster for the win.

After the match, Fletcher celebrates his win alongside Don Callis, but this is interrupted by the arrival of Kazuchika Okada.
Okada is in action next as he makes his way down to the ring, having a slight stare-down with Fletcher on Fletcher’s way up the ramp before Okada enters the ring. Hechicero then makes his way down to the ring next and Kevin Knight follows.
Místico then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Chris Jericho and Darby Allin follow.
Trios Match: Místico, Chris Jericho and Darby Allin vs. Don Callis Family (AEW TNT Champion “The Jet” Kevin Knight, “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada and Hechicero)
The match starts off with Kevin Knight diving over the top rope onto Darby Allin on the ramp, while the other four men go at it in the ring. Allin then gets sent to the floor below as Hechicero goes after Mistico, with Okada stomping away at Jericho in the corner. Okada is then preoccupied with mocking the crowd and this allows Jericho to fight back until Okada hits him with a dropkick. Knight then comes in now, sending Jericho to the ropes before Jericho fights back for a Death Valley Driver. A tag is then made to Allin and Knight backs off to the corner for a tag to Hechicero. Allin then dodges a clothesline to send Knight off the apron before dropping Hechicero.
He then sees an opening and goes for a dive through the ropes on Knight, but Okada intercepts and he drops Allin to the floor. Allin and Knight are back in the ring as Allin gets a tag to Mistico. Hechicero is then joined by Okada in beating down Mistico to a wave of boos. Mistico then fends them off before hitting a rope walk headscissors on Knight, but only gets a two count. A tag is then made to Allin, who takes Knight to the mat for a Scorpion Deathlock. Jericho then goes for a Walls of Jericho on Okada, but Hechicero breaks it up before Mistico sends him to the ropes.
He then goes for a tiger feint kick but gets caught by Hechicero, but he gets sent to the outside as Allin and Jericho hit dives on Okada and Knight on the outside. Allin then comes back into the ring but is cut off by Knight, who sets Allin up in a tree of woe. He then goes for a Coast to Coast, but gets caught with a Judas Effect by Jericho. Jericho then stops Okada from doing a dropkick and locks in the Liontamer, while Mistico hits a headscissors on Hechicero setting up for La Mistica. Allin then hits a Coffin Drop on Knight for the win.

We then get a video package looking at how we got to Persephone taking on Kris Statlander tonight at Grand Slam Mexico.
Kris Statlander and Persephone then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night.
Non-Title Match: CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone vs. Kris Statlander
The match starts off with both women going back and forth before Kris Statlander gets sent to the outside. She then goes into it with Persephone on the outside before bringing Persephone back into the ring. Statlander then gets onto the apron but is knocked to the floor by Persephone, who hits a dive sending Statlander down hard before having a confrontation with Thunder Rosa in the front row. Persephone then brings Statlander back into the ring to continue the attack, cinching in a sleeper hold. Statlander then tries to fight out of it, but to no avail.
Statlander then hits a Michinoku Driver to Persephone and goes for a pin. Persephone then kicks out and exchanges overhand chops with Statlander and follows it up with a spear and goes for a pin. Statlander then kicks out, but Persephone tries to grab Rosa’s CMLL Mexican National Championship belt from her. Both women then briefly brawl, but Persephone takes out Rosa. Statlander then flies off the ring apron to take out Persephone and accidentally hits the referee, and Statlander sends her crashing into the mat spine first.
Hikaru Shida then appears out of nowhere to hit Statlander with the Mexican National Championship belt. Persephone then hits a Frog Splash to Statlander off the top rope and pins her for the win.

After the match, Persephone leaves the ring to celebrate while Shida looks to beat up Statlander some more before Maya World and Hyan come to her aid.
Hangman Page, Bandido and Brody King then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and The Demand follow.
AEW World Trios Championship Match: The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun) (c) vs. Brodido (Brody King and ROH World Champion Bandido) and “Hangman” Adam Page
The match starts off with Page hitting a tijeras to Toa Liona. King then tags in and he delivers some strikes on Liona and Bishop Kaun, but Bandido tags in and King holds Gates of Agony in place using the bottom rope. Page and King then hold the top rope for Bandido for him to fly and nail Ricochet, Kaun and Liona on the outside. The Demand then blindside King, Bandido and Page from behind, with Liona sending Page crashing into one of the barricades and Kaun hitting forearms on Bandido in the corner.
Page then flies over the top rope to nail Liona on the outside and he hits Kaun with a clothesline. Ricochet and Kaun then fly out of the ring to nail Page and Bandido on the outside before The Demand triple team on Bandido inside the ring. King then hits a cannonball to Kaun in the corner, but Ricochet hits several strikes on Page. Page then nails Ricochet with a discus lariat before Liona gets King up on his shoulders. Kaun then helps him stack Page and Bandido on top of King and Liona hits a triple Fallaway Slam to all three men.
Bandido then looks to hit a 21 Plex on Liona, but Liona hangs onto the ropes to block Bandido. Page then helps out Bandido by hitting a kick on Liona and Page and Bandido hit a Buckshot Lariat-21 Plex combination to Liona for the win.

Will Ospreay then makes his way down to the ring for the main event of the night Mark Davis follows as we are getting things underway immediately with both men going at it on the ramp.
Mexico City Street Fight (No Outside Interference): Don Callis Family’s Mark Davis vs. “The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay
The match starts off with Davis clotheslining Ospreay into the ring. He then wedges the chair between the top rope and middle rope, but Ospreay flies over the top rope to nail Davis with a crossbody and sends him crashing into a chair set up on the outside. Ospreay then grabs hold of a tire, but Davis hits a kick to Ospreay which causes Ospreay to accidentally release the tire. Ospreay then flies over the barricade from the crowd to hit a tope con hilo to Davis and slides a chair into the ring. He then hits a corkscrew kick to Davis using a chair Davis is holding, but Davis grabs a trash can and throws it at Ospreay. Davis then powerbombs Ospreay onto a fan in the crowd.
Davis then wraps a towel around Ospreay’s neck and attempts to choke him. Ospreay then somehow breaks himself out and begins to mount a slow comeback. Davis then blasts a board over Ospreay’s head. Ospreay then goes tumbling down and Davis gets him back into the ring. Multiple chairs are then thrown into the ring by Davis. Ospreay then escapes and he hits a kick. Davis then doesn’t let go of Ospreay and he shoves Ospreay into a few chairs. Ospreay is now bleeding and Davis attempts to stab him with a fork. Ospreay then hits a Cutter and grabs the fork himself to stab Davis.
Ospreay then kicks out of a massive move from Davis. Both men are now bleeding profusely. Davis then grabs a barbed wire and rubs it on Ospreay’s face. Things then get even more bloody. Davis then wraps the barbed wire across his arm, but Ospreay counters him and hits Davis with a Styles Clash. Ospreay then wraps the barbed wire around Davis’ head and hits him with a Hidden Blade for the win.
