AEW Dynamite just got another title match for tonight’s show. Tony Khan announced that Darby Allin will defend the TNT Championship against Mark Davis on the September 2 episode.
Khan revealed that AEW doctors cleared Allin to compete just days after he captured the TNT Championship from Jet2Fly. The Don Callis Family will now attempt to bring the belt back into its camp by sending Davis after the new champion.
“AEW Dynamite, 8/7c, tonight! TNT Title: Darby Allin vs. Mark Davis. AEW doctors have cleared Darby to fight tonight! Days after he won the TNT Title from Jet2Fly, The Don Callis Family aim to regain the belt by sending in former National Champion Mark Davis vs. Darby, tonight!”
Allin won’t receive much time to enjoy his championship victory before putting the title on the line. Davis now has a chance to immediately cut Allin’s reign short and return the TNT Championship to The Don Callis Family.
The TNT Championship match joins a loaded Dynamite lineup built around the fallout from AEW All In 2026. Mercedes Moné will appear for an AEW Women’s World Championship celebration after defeating Willow Nightingale to capture the title at Wembley Stadium.
Swerve Strickland, Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed will also make their first defense of the AEW World Trios Championship against The Rascalz. The trio captured the titles during the Trios Roulette match at All In.
The updated AEW Dynamite lineup for September 2, 2026 includes:
- TNT Championship: Darby Allin vs. Mark Davis
- AEW World Trios Championship: Swerve Strickland, Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed vs. The Rascalz
- Mercedes Moné’s AEW Women’s World Championship celebration
AEW Dynamite will take place at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. The show begins at 8 PM ET on TBS and will also stream on HBO Max.
