Tatum Paxley might be fighting for gold at NXT Great American Bash today, but WWE may already be looking at something bigger for her.
Paxley lost the WWE Women’s North American Championship to Zaria on the June 9 episode of NXT, but she wasted no time using her rematch clause. Now she is set to challenge Zaria for the title again at Great American Bash, and yeah, the timing is interesting. According to Fightful Select, there have been talks about moving Tatum Paxley up to the main roster, though nothing has been confirmed just yet.
“There have been discussions regarding Tatum Paxley heading to the main roster, but we haven’t got a confirmation yet.”
That makes today’s title match feel a little more important. If Paxley loses to Zaria again, fans are probably going to start wondering if that is WWE’s way of clearing the path for her to move on from NXT.
Paxley has been in NXT for years and has already done a lot on the developmental brand. At this point, a jump to RAW or SmackDown would not exactly feel random. She has the character, the experience, and enough TV time to make the move if WWE decides now is the moment.
For now, though, she still has business with Zaria. Whether she wins the title back or takes another loss, the bigger story may be what happens after Great American Bash is over.
Do you think Tatum Paxley should move to the WWE main roster soon, or does she still need more time in NXT? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
