The stakes just got even higher for the AEW Tag Team Title match at Double or Nothing.

On this week’s AEW Collision, FTR came out to respond to the challenge issued by Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. The veteran duo had previously proposed a New York Street Fight for AEW Double or Nothing, with one major condition — if they lose, they will never team together again.

During the segment, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler officially accepted the Street Fight challenge. But that wasn’t the end of it.

Dax raised the stakes by calling for an additional stipulation — turning the match into an I Quit match so there would be no doubt about which team is better once it’s over. He wrapped up the promo by taking another shot at their opponents, saying that after Double or Nothing, Copeland and Cage could continue their nostalgia act while FTR would remain the greatest tag team of all time.

The rivalry between the two teams has been building for months. After Copeland and Cage defeated FTR at AEW All Out last year, they stepped away for a period before returning earlier this month to challenge FTR again. That rematch took place at AEW Dynasty, where FTR scored the win to even the series between the teams.

With the new stipulation now added, the AEW Tag Team Title match is shaping up to be one of the most intense bouts on the Double or Nothing card.

Current lineup for AEW Double or Nothing — May 24:

  • International Championship: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita
  • New York Street Fight I Quit Match for the AEW Tag Team Championships: FTR (c) vs. Adam Copeland & Christian Cage

With an I Quit stipulation now attached — and Copeland and Cage’s future as a team on the line — this match just became one of the most personal fights on the Double or Nothing card.

Do you think adding the I Quit stipulation gives FTR the edge, or will Copeland and Cage find a way to stay together? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
