WWE NXT Results (7/28/26): Live Match Updates and Highlights
The show opens up with a video package recapping last week’s episode.
Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T then welcomes us to NXT.
We then see Grayson Waller in the ring. Waller says it’s about time he started rattling some cages. Waller then says he recalls making his main roster debut in the main event at Madison Square Garden. Waller then says he recalls breaking his leg on the announce desk and most people would have drowned under the lights. Waller then reminds everyone of his winning the SmackDown Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 40. Waller then says he felt on top of the world, but then something changed. Waller then says it’s not his work ethic or talent. Waller then says he was too honest or maybe he didn’t politic.
Waller then says the last few years of his career have been an absolute embarrassment. Waller then says he carried Austin Theory on his back, making him relevant again. Waller then says Theory is still allergic to the microphone. Waller then says he pretended he was at a funeral during the last year of his career. Waller then says he wore the silly hat and told the world how good someone else was. Waller then says he was dressed for a funeral, but the only thing dying was his career. Waller then says it’s a new day and he got himself in the best shape of his life. Waller then says he’s hungrier than he’s ever been. Waller then admits he’s got demons that have been keeping him awake. Waller then stakes his claim to the NXT Championship.
Waller then says it was held by the best. Waller then says people get sent up to the main roster because he is a hero. Waller then says he is not a commercial break person. Waller then says he is coming for the title. Waller then says he is coming for Cruz Montana and he likes the name. Waller then says there will be a shiny new toy in six weeks and you will be forgotten. Waller then says being the best in TNA in 2026 is like being the best at the YMCA. Waller then says there was no one left for you Tony. Waller then says you can go home and care for your child.
A production assistant then tells Waller to wrap it up and Waller says he is not going anywhere. Waller then tells everyone to get off the phone and watch what I do. Waller then says the men’s roster is soft. Waller then says the women are running laps around you, but ninety percent of you think you should be called up. Waller then says maybe ten percent are ready, but it is the women. Waller then says you want to play wrestler for six months and impress the girls. Waller then talks about the independent talents, but you put a mic in their hand and it all goes away. Waller then says Shawn is smiling because he is telling the truth. Waller then says the division is for the taking. Waller then says none of you have done a thing about it. Waller then says he is going to take every opportunity because he is trying to remember who he is. The mic is then turned off and he says he doesn’t need a mic. Waller then says he just took one. Waller then says consider your cages rattled and the camera cuts to black abruptly.
Tavion Heights and Myles Borne then talk about Waller. Tavion tells him to win tonight and they can face The Vanity Project. Mason Rook then says he is getting his hands on Kam and Myles reminds him he has his match against Kam.
Lizzy Rain then makes her way down to the ring for the first match of the night and Izzi Dame follows with Niko Vance.
Singles Match: The Culling’s Izzi Dame vs. Lizzy Rain
The match starts off with both women locking up and Izzi backs Rain into the ropes. Izzi then hits a chop. Both women then lock up again and Izzi misses a chop and Rain hits a chop. Rain then cinches in a waist lock into a side head lock. Rain then does a matrix and goes for a cutter, but Izzi hits a clothesline. Rain then hits a kick from the mat. Rain then hits several chops. Izzi then hits an Irish whip and Rain floats over and chops Izzi. Izzi then pulls Rain off the turnbuckles and follows it up with a clothesline. Izzi then sends Rain into the turnbuckles. Izzi then hits a suplex for a near fall. Rain then gets a rollup for a near fall. Rain then hits a kick to the knee and a spinning back heel kick to Izzi. Rain then hits a forearm and a chop.
Rain then hits a head butt and Izzi hits several kicks, but Rain hits a kick. Rain then hits a springboard back elbow and Izzi goes to the floor. Izzi then blocks a drop kick through the ropes and Izzi sends Rain into the apron and follows it up with a boot. Izzi then sends Rain back into the ring and Izzi hits a running shoulder in the corner and follows it up with more shoulders. Izzi then hits a short arm clothesline. Izzi then hits a release suplex and she kicks Rain in the head. Izzi then goes for a suplex, but Rain gets an inside cradle for a near fall. Izzi is then sent to the floor and Rain goes for a drop toe hold, but Izzi stays on her feet. Rain then goes for a suplex and Izzi locks it in and hits a release suplex for a near fall.
Izzi then cinches in a rear chin lock and Rain hits a jaw breaker. Izzi then hits a clothesline for a near fall. Izzi then hits several kicks to Rain and she applies a rear chin lock. Rain then gets back to her feet and she punches Izzi to get out of the hold. Rain then hits several punches and chops. Rain then hits several chops and Izzi hits a back breaker. Izzi then sends Rain to the apron and Rain hits a kick and she goes up top. Rain then hits a missile drop kick, a clothesline and a back elbow. Rain then misses a back heel kick, but hits a round kick and an Exploder. Rain then hits several chops in the corner. Izzi then pushes Rain away and Izzi hits a code breaker. Rain then hits a rolling elbow and Rain goes up top. Rain then leaps over Izzi and Rain hits a boot to Izzi. Izzi then catches Rain off the ropes for a Blue Thunder Bomb and a near fall.
Rain then hits a forearm and Izzi fires back. They. then go back and forth. Izzi then gets the advantage and Rain escapes a a power bomb. Rain then gets a back slide for a near fall. Izzi then hits a spear and both women go to the floor. Rain then sends Izzi into the ring steps. Rain then sends Izzi back into the ring and Rain hits a Death Valley Driver for a near fall. Izzi then hits a knee to Rain and a crucifix bomb for a near fall. Izzi then hits a boot to Rain and she pulls Izzi up, but Rain hits a cutter and a flying head butt. Niko then gets on the apron and he blocks a punch. Izzi then hits a boot to Rain and Shawn Spears appears with a hoodie and a hat. Rain then hits a ThunderStruck for the win.

We then see Romeo Moreno, Cruz Montana and Noam Dar in the lounge to talk about what they can do. Saquon Shugars then shows up and Noam apologizes about last week, but says they did fine. Saquon then tells Cruz the last time he saw him he was kicking his ass all over the Garden. Saquon then says he is a changed man and you can see what he is going to do. Kelani Jordan then shows up and he tells Cruz what is going to happen when he signs the contract. Kelani then says she never had a title match and Cruz walks away.
We then see Robert Stone talking with The Vanity Project. The Vanity Project complain about the tag title division and the idea that Myles and Tavion can get a title match. Jackson then says he knows that Myles can win and they will have the North American Title. Keanu Carver then shows up and they leave except for Myka. Keanu says he wants a match and Stone is surprised that it was so easy. Stone then tells Waller to get back in the building.
We then take a look at the NXT Underground Match.
Lola Vice says Kendal Grey doesn’t know how to prove herself in this type of match. Lola then says the champion cannot just be happy to be here. Lola then says Kendal will run the division, but not while she is here. Lola then says she has the advantage and she will expose Kendal.
We then see Thea Hail and she says she is glad that Jaida Parker won. She then says the right person won. Jaida then says she hasn’t been a good friend to her, but she thanks her. Thea then says she knows how hard it is. Jaida then says Nattie made it feel like she was alone. Thea then says they have a tag match against Karmen and Nikkita next week. Jaida then says she appreciates Thea and Thea hugs her.
Kam Hendrix then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Myles Borne follows.
WWE NXT North American Championship Match: Myles Borne (c) vs. “Showtime” Kam Hendrix
The match starts off with both men locking up. Kam Hendrix then tries to overpower Myles Borne. Borne then gets a takedown. Borne and Hendrix then continue to wear down each other early in the match. Both men then trade strikes in the middle of the ring. Hendrix then slams Borne down. Borne then hits a standing dropkick. Borne then launches himself over the top rope, taking out Hendrix. Hendrix then trips Borne up on the apron. The fight then continues on the outside. Hendrix then sends Borne face-first into the hardest part of the apron. Borne then sends Hendrix into the post and he hits a clothesline. Back in the ring, Borne hits an inverted Slam for a near fall.
Borne then runs into a knee. Hendrix then slams Borne head-first into the post. Hendrix then hits a knee right to the face of Borne. Hendrix then slams Borne down to the mat for a near fall. Hendrix then applies a rear chin lock. Hendrix then drives his elbow into the heart of Borne for a near fall. Hendrix then wears Borne down. Hendrix then hits a series of rights. Borne then tries to fight back. Borne then hits a series of clotheslines and he follows it up with a back body drop. Borne then hits a standing dropkick, sending Hendrix to the floor. Borne then hits a Powerslam. Borne then goes for a Borne Again, but Hendrix counters with a crossbody. Hendrix then sends Borne into the post. Borne then hits another Powerslam for a near fall.
Borne then goes for a suicide dive, but he runs into an elbow. We then see Tavion Heights trying to stop Mason Rook from interfering in the match. Hendrix then hits a Showtime Kick for a near fall. Borne then hits Hendrix with a Borne Again for the win.

After the match, Mason Rook attacks Kam Hendrix and takes the fight to the outside. The Vanity Project then ambushes Myles Borne and Tavion Heights. Myles Borne and Tavion Heights then clear the ring and they stand tall over the heels.
We then see Emily ask Lizzy Rain about what is next. Lizzy says she gets tired after a match and she learned from Shiloh. Tristan Angels then shows up and he tells Lizzy maybe she will reconsider her role models.
We then see Bronco Nima and Lucien Price in a room and Angel and Berto are there. They tell Bronco it is all about them and Lucien isn’t that excited to see them.
We then see Robert Stone talking on the phone with Grayson Waller and he wants him in his office. ZARIA then walks up to Stone and she wants to know who is next for her. Wren Sinclair then walks into Robert Stone’s office and asks him about her next challenger. Robert Stone then says he needs to organize a tournament and i seems like we’re getting a match between ZARIA and Wren Sinclair. Robert Stone then makes it official and says if Wren Sinclair beats ZARIA next week, she will get a future opportunity at the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
BirthRight then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and OTM follow.
Tag Team Match: OTM (Lucien Price and Bronco Nima) vs. BirthRight (Uriah Connors and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo)
The match starts off with Bronco Nima and Uriah Connors locking up. Channing Lorenzo then comes in and he applies a side headlock. Nima then runs into a big boot. Nima then sends Connors into the corner and tags Lucien Price in. Connors and Price then exchange chops. Lorenzo then chops Nima down from behind. Nima then hits a double suplex on Lorenzo and Connors and OTM regains control. OTM then launches Lorenzo over the top rope, wiping out the entire BirthRight.
Price then clotheslines Lorenzo in the corner. Nima is the legal man now and he hits a kick to Connors and a backbreaker to Lorenzo. Lorenzo then hits a Codebreaker to Nima and BirthRight has taken control of Nima. Lorenzo then applies a rear chin lock on Nima in the middle of the ring. Lorenzo then hits a cheap shot to Price. Connors then hits a Swanton Bomb on Nima for a near fall. Nima then drops Lorenzo into the canvas with a stomp. Price then takes the fight to BirthRight. He then hits a splash to both men in the corner. Lorenzo then accidentally superkicks Connors and we see Angel and Berto has made their way out. Connors then superkicks Price. Lorenzo and Connors then hit a double superkick for the win.

After the match, we see Angel and Berto standing behind OTM. Lucien Price then shakes hands with Bronco Nima.
Kendal Grey then cuts a promo and says this will be the biggest match of her career in an NXT Underground Match. Grey then says she has been training with her head. Kendal’s father then talks about how she will prepare for the match. Kendal then says she is the underdog, but that is why she took the match. Grey then says she brought in some extra help and we see her train with Julius Creed. Kendal then says she wouldn’t be in WWE if it wasn’t for Julius.
We then see Kali Armstrong and she says she should have been the one instead of Lola Vice in the Underground squabbling with Kendal Grey. Izzi Dame then walks up to her and says Kali Armstrong just got here and she should wait in line. Kelani Jordan then enters the scene and says she already pinned both women. She then says she will be the NXT Women’s Champion in the future. Reina Volcan then says this women’s division doesn’t rebuild, it reloads.
Shiloh Hill then makes his way down to the ring for the main event of the night and Tristan Angels follows.
Singles Match: WWE LFG season two winner “Mr. NXT” Shiloh Hill vs. “Mr. England” Tristan Angels
The match starts off with Shiloh Hill blocking a punch and he hits a head butt. Tristan Angels then hits a boot when Hill charges into the corner. Hill then hits a back body drop and a clothesline. Angels then hits a double thrust to the throat. Hill then hits an elbow and a shoulder breaker for a near fall. Angels then sends Hill into the turnbuckles and to the mat. Angels then hits an elbow to the back of the head. Angels then hits a chop. Hill then hits a face buster and he sends Angels to the mat. Hill then hits a flying shoulder tackle and Angels goes to the floor. Hill then follows. Angels then tries to Irish whip Hill into the apron and Hill tires to swing on the apron, but Angels stops him and hits a hanging neck breaker.
Angels then slams Hills’ head into the apron and he kicks Hill. Angels then gets a near fall. Angels then hits a suplex and he gets a near fall. Angels then cinches in a reverse chin lock. Hill then backs Angels into the turnbuckles and Angels gets on HIll’s back. Hill then drops to the mat to escape. Angels then rolls to the apron. Angels then drops Hill on the top rope and he hits an elbow. Angels then gets a near fall. Angels then gets another near fall. Angels then cinches in a Japanese strangle hold. Angels then sends Hill to the mat and he hits a forearm for a near fall. Hill then goes for a snap mare and he escapes.
Hill then hits a punch and Angels hits an Irish whip. Angels then blocks a boot and he hits a hanging back breaker. Hill then hits several punches and Angels punches back. Hill then hits a forearm and a boot. Hill then hits a slam and an inward senton for a near fall. Hill then puts Angels on the turnbuckles and Hill joins him. Angels then hits several chops and Hill goes to the mat. Hill then catches Angels and he hits a power slam for a near fall. Hill then goes to the turnbuckles and Angels hits the ropes to crotch Hill. Angels then hits a step up enzuigiri. Angels then goes for a superplex and e hits it and gets a near fall. Angels then slaps Hill many times. Hill then slaps back and he clotheslines Angels over the top rope and to the floor.
Angels then sends Hill into the announce desk. Angels then sends Hill into the ring steps. Angels then sets up for a curb stomp to the back of the head on the ring step, but Hill moves. Hill then hits a power bomb onto the announce desk and Hill gets a near fall. Angels then escapes a belly-to-back suplex and Angels gets a rollup and a hand on the ropes so the referee stops the count. Hill then hits a pop up forearm and a shoulder in the corner. Hill then hits a neck breaker from the turnbuckles for the win.

We then see Cruz Montana walking in the backstage area.
It is then announced that next week Myles Borne and Tavion Heights face Vanity Project for the tag titles, Thea Hail and Jaida Parker face Karmen Petrovic and Nikkita Lyons, Wren Sinclair faces ZARIA for the Speed Title, and Kendal Grey faces Lola Vice in an NXT Underground Match.
Cruz Montana then makes his way down to the ring through the NXT Universe. Montana says he prides himself on being real. Montana then says he is officially a WWE Superstar. Montana then says there were a lot of times that he didn’t think he would see tomorrow. Montana then says every single day was a struggle and a fight to survive. Montana then admits he’s made mistakes he can’t take back, but he learned he was fighting the man in the mirror. Montana then says he thought WWE wasn’t meant for him. Montana then says he had to make a decision and became a man that his daughter deserves to call a father.
Montana then says he was told he reached his ceiling as a tag team wrestler and he couldn’t be The Guy. Montana then says he has fought the toughest battles within himself for 20 years and he was on a losing streak. Montana then says he started to win and every single step forward was him chasing the validation. Montana then says he rebuilt his career. Montana then says he loves and appreciates what TNA did for him. Montana then says he stands here as a WWE Superstar and not a d*** thing was given to him. Montana then says he is not going to allow his past to dictate his future.
Montana then says he’s not here to fill a spot, but to take a spot and that spot is the new WWE NXT Champion. Montana then turns his attention to Grayson Waller. Montana tells Waller that was a cut promo and he will say what he has to say directly to your face. Tony D’Angelo’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. D’Angelo then welcomes Montana to NXT. D’Angelo then says since you wanted to interrupt him last week, he wanted to properly introduce himself to Montana. D’Angelo then says he is the NXT Champion. D’Angelo then says he has seen some of the hottest names come in here and talk about changing the business and NXT. D’Angelo then says he believes everything that Montana said, except for one thing.
D’Angelo then says you want the spot of NXT Champion. D’Angelo then says that spot is taken until further notice. D’Angelo then says you can be the realest, the nastiest and the baddest, but you will not be champion. Montana then says he will show D’Angelo how he is going to take that spot. Waller then hits Montana from behind and he kicks Montana. D’Angelo then hits a punch to Montana. Waller then moves and Montana accidentally clotheslines D’Angelo. D’Angelo, Waller and Montana then stare each other down in the ring as the show comes to a close.
