Steven Borden made his AEW in-ring debut during the AEW Dynamite episode for September 9, 2026, and his first night inside an AEW ring ended with a victory. Borden teamed with AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin against Don Callis Family members Mark Davis and Josh Alexander.
Earlier in the night, Borden addressed living in his father’s shadow and said he saw this match as an opportunity to start making his own way. That set the stage for a debut that quickly had the Athens crowd getting behind him.
Borden received “Steve” chants after tagging into the match and immediately went after Davis. He showed off his power by taking Davis down before later body slamming both Davis and Alexander and dropping Alexander with a Samoan drop.
The Don Callis Family nearly shut down the debut when Alexander caught Borden with a rack bomb, but Allin broke up the pin before the three-count. Borden stayed in the fight and eventually hit Alexander with a Scorpion Coffin Drop as Allin launched himself through the ropes to keep Davis out of the equation. That was enough for Borden to score the pin and officially pick up the victory in his AEW debut alongside Allin.
For a guy who entered the night talking about escaping a massive family shadow, Borden couldn’t have asked for a much better start. He walked into Dynamite for his first AEW match and walked out with the win.
