El Cuatrero’s legal situation has now escalated even further, as new details reveal the former AAA star could potentially face decades behind bars following his guilty verdict involving Stephanie Vaquer.

After reports confirmed that Cuatrero — real name Rogelio Reyes — had been found guilty of domestic violence and attempted femicide against Vaquer, RECORD Mexico has now provided additional details regarding the possible sentencing and the current state of both sides involved in the case.

According to the report, Reyes is expected to be sentenced next Tuesday and could receive a prison sentence ranging between 20 and 30 years or potentially even more once both convictions are combined.

The outlet noted that the attempted femicide charge alone carries a sentence between 13 and 30 years under Mexico City law, while the domestic violence conviction could add another 4 to 8 years on top of that. The report also revealed that evidence involving marks on Vaquer’s neck played a major role in the judge’s decision.

Sources close to the case stated the court viewed the injuries shown in photos submitted by Vaquer as a sign that Reyes allegedly attempted to end her life during the March 2023 incident.

That incident took place at Vaquer’s apartment in Mexico City, where prosecutors said Reyes attempted to strangle her. Vaquer later filed a formal complaint and provided photographic evidence documenting the injuries.

It was also stated that Reyes is expected to return to a detention center beginning next Tuesday once sentencing is formally handed down, even as his legal team prepares to appeal the ruling and attempt to reduce the eventual sentence.

According to the report, Cuatrero is said to be devastated by the outcome because he believed the ruling would go in his favor following the injunction he received in early 2025 that allowed his conditional release from prison and eventual return to wrestling.

Even if his sentence is reduced later, RECORD Mexico reported that Reyes would still likely need to serve at least half of his sentence before potentially requesting any reduction for good conduct.

The report also noted that the nearly two years Reyes already spent incarcerated between 2023 and 2025 would count toward any final sentence. Beyond prison time, Cuatrero is also expected to pay financial damages exceeding 100,000 pesos.

Meanwhile, according to sources cited in the report, Vaquer is said to feel relieved that the lengthy legal process is finally nearing its conclusion. The report added that the current WWE star may not need to travel back to Mexico City for the sentencing hearing since she now lives in the United States.

Bottom line — this situation has now moved far beyond allegations or ongoing legal debate. El Cuatrero has officially been found guilty, could soon receive a prison sentence potentially lasting decades, and according to the latest reporting, he is expected to return to custody immediately following sentencing next week.
