El Cuatrero’s legal situation has taken a major turn — and this time, the court has officially ruled against him.

After months of publicly insisting he did nothing wrong following his release from prison, El Cuatrero — real name Rogelio Reyes — has now been found guilty of domestic violence and attempted femicide against Stephanie Vaquer. According to a report from Mexican crime journalist Antonio Nieto, Reyes was convicted in connection to the case stemming from a March 2, 2023 incident at Vaquer’s apartment in Mexico City.

The report states that Vaquer told prosecutors Reyes attempted to strangle her during the incident. Days later, she formally filed a complaint and reportedly provided photos showing visible marks on her neck.

From there, the case escalated significantly. Authorities with the Fiscalía Especializada para la Investigación de Delitos de Feminicidio reportedly reclassified the original domestic violence allegation into attempted femicide, continuing the investigation under far more serious charges. Now, the court has reached its decision. According to the report, Reyes has been ruled guilty and is expected to receive sentencing on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

The ruling marks a dramatic contrast from the comments Cuatrero made publicly earlier this year, where he framed his nearly two years in custody as part of a personal process and repeatedly maintained his innocence. At the time, he claimed he believed in the justice system and insisted he “hadn’t done anything,” while also saying he held no resentment toward Vaquer despite the case.

Reyes had originally spent nearly two years in preventive detention after his March 2023 arrest before being released through an amparo on March 7, 2025. Earlier this year, he returned to the ring for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, marking his first wrestling appearance since the arrest.

Bottom line — El Cuatrero’s case is no longer just about accusations or ongoing legal proceedings. A guilty ruling has now reportedly been handed down, and the focus shifts to what punishment the court will impose when sentencing takes place next week.
