Stephanie Vaquer didn’t return at the SummerSlam Premium Live Event. Instead, she did something nobody saw coming, and it got a lot of people talking.
Just hours after WWE’s biggest event of the summer came and went without her long-awaited comeback, the former Women’s World Champion quietly blacked out both her Twitter and Instagram accounts, replacing her profile pictures and header images with solid black images.
That’s it. No explanation. No cryptic message. No follow-up. The sudden change immediately raised eyebrows because it comes after weeks of reports suggesting Vaquer was getting close to returning to WWE television. Most recently, WrestleVotes reported WWE was targeting her comeback somewhere around SummerSlam, saying the company believed Raw’s women’s division could use her return.
“Likely around SummerSlam, the week before, or at SummerSlam—in that range. The show could definitely use her. That women’s division on Raw is lacking without her.”
That return never happened. Now, instead of talking about Vaquer showing up at SummerSlam, people are trying to figure out why one of WWE’s biggest stars suddenly wiped the look of her social media accounts. Whether it’s connected to her WWE return or something completely unrelated remains anyone’s guess.
Vaquer has been sidelined since suffering a legitimate second-degree AC joint sprain after being written off Raw in April. WWE had discussed creative plans for her before ultimately deciding to hold off until she was medically ready.
As of now, neither Vaquer nor WWE has commented on the social media blackout. That means, for the moment, the blacked-out profiles remain exactly what they are—a mystery.
