WWE has an early plan in place for how the August 14 episode of SmackDown is expected to begin, with Chelsea Green currently slated to kick off the show. Since this is part of the early rundown, the order and plans can always change before the show goes live.

According to TRNBCKL Gold, a Chelsea Green segment is currently expected to open Friday Night SmackDown from Boston. No additional details were provided about what WWE has planned for Green during the segment.

The timing makes her broken orbital bone and WWE Women’s Championship status obvious possibilities for the segment. Green suffered the injury during last week’s tag team match when she teamed with Tiffany Stratton against WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid.

Green was injured during the Rolling Encore at the finish of the match and later revealed that she had gone to the emergency room. Despite the injury, WWE is said to be optimistic about her condition, with Green currently not expected to be removed from television or stripped of the WWE Women’s Championship.

That makes the planned opening segment one to watch. WWE could use it to address Green’s injury, give an update on her championship situation, or move her storyline forward while she recovers. However, no specifics about the segment have been revealed at this point.

As always with early WWE rundowns, plans can shift throughout the day and even during the show itself. For now, though, Chelsea Green is penciled in to open the August 14 episode of SmackDown.

What do you think WWE should do with Chelsea Green while she recovers from her broken orbital bone? Let us know what you think in the comments.
