Stephanie Vaquer’s WWE status suddenly looks a lot more interesting after illness derailed her plans last week. Just hours before Monday Night RAW at Barclays Center, there was finally an encouraging development surrounding her absence.
Footage captured outside the arena on November 2 showed the former Women’s World Champion arriving at Barclays Center ahead of the show. She was accompanied by security and waved to fans before heading inside.
Vaquer missed the October 26 episode after becoming sick, forcing WWE to scrap her scheduled match against Becky Lynch. Liv Morgan was instead booked against Lynch, with the unexpected change resulting in WWE having to adjust its original plans for the night.
Dave Meltzer later reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vaquer’s absence wasn’t caused by an injury or some storyline designed to temporarily remove her from television. He was also told her illness wasn’t considered terribly serious.
“She’s ill. You know, it’s not anything. I was told nothing terribly serious or anything, but. But she’s, she’s ill and she’s out.”
There had been some concern after Vaquer was initially described as being sidelined “indefinitely.” Meltzer clarified that the term simply reflected the lack of a specific timetable rather than indicating the severity of what she was dealing with.
“Yeah, I mean, it’s indefinitely in the sense that, you know, it’s not like it’s a week. You know, it’s not. It’s. It’s something more serious, so. Or, no, I shouldn’t even say that. It’s something that’s indeterminate yet as far as when she’ll be back.”
While being at the arena doesn’t automatically confirm Vaquer has been medically cleared to wrestle, she’s at least back around WWE programming after being unable to make last week’s show. Whether that means Vaquer will actually appear on RAW remains to be seen. With her originally positioned for a major match against Lynch before getting sick, WWE now has the option of picking things back up whenever she is ready to compete.
Could WWE revisit Stephanie Vaquer’s unfinished business with Becky Lynch now that she’s back around the show? Let us know what you think in the comments.
