Tom Brady may have one of the greatest resumes in NFL history, but according to Sheamus, he’d better learn how to throw a punch—or at least a slap—before stepping into a WWE ring.
Brady’s recent confrontation with Logan Paul has led to speculation that the seven-time Super Bowl champion could eventually make the jump to WWE. Sheamus can actually see that happening. Before he gets there, though, the former WWE Champion thinks Brady has one very obvious problem to fix.
Asked during an interview with Adam’s Apple whether he expects Brady to wrestle in WWE someday, Sheamus immediately zeroed in on Brady’s now-infamous slap aimed at Logan Paul—and he wasn’t exactly impressed.
“I think he needs to work on his slap. I watched when he slapped Logan Paul. It was a little bit like, ‘What are you doing here, fella?’ If you’re going to hit somebody, hit somebody. You know what I’m saying?”
After everyone had a laugh, Sheamus made it clear he wasn’t ruling Brady out at all. In fact, he believes WWE has become such a huge attraction that it’s only a matter of time before the NFL legend ends up inside the squared circle.
“The way it is now, everybody wants to get in the ring now at this stage. That’s how big our sport is—or our entertainment business. So we’ll see. I’m sure he’ll end up there at some stage.”
It’s a different take from the one Alexa Bliss recently shared when discussing celebrity crossovers. Rather than questioning whether Brady belongs in WWE, Bliss argued that anyone who steps into the company quickly discovers just how physically demanding professional wrestling really is, regardless of their athletic background.
For Sheamus, though, Brady’s biggest challenge is a lot simpler. Before he worries about taking bumps, the Celtic Warrior thinks Brady needs to throw a slap that actually looks like it hurts.
