Sheamus Twitter changes are saying plenty right now, even without The Celtic Warrior posting some long goodbye message about WWE.

Sheamus is no longer using “Sheamus” as his Twitter name. Instead, his account now shows S. Farrelly, a clear move back toward his real name. He also removed WWE from his bio and replaced it with a simple description: “Pro Wrestler.”

That’s short, but it lands loud. Sheamus spent nearly 19 years under the WWE banner, so changing his Twitter name and wiping WWE from his profile is not exactly a small update.

The move comes as Sheamus’ WWE deal is set to expire and he turned down a contract extension. WWE tried to get him on a restructured deal while he was out with an injury, but Sheamus passed on it.

This was not framed as WWE releasing him either. Sheamus wasn’t cut. He chose not to sign the new deal, and since his contract was already close to expiring, there was no real reason for WWE to release him and trigger a 90-day waiting period.

That makes the Twitter change feel like the next step. He didn’t need to post a big farewell. Changing the name to S. Farrelly, removing WWE from the bio, and calling himself a “Pro Wrestler” pretty much got the message across.

The timing also stands out because this comes only a couple of months after WWE was said to be renegotiating deals with multiple talents. Some wrestlers were asked to take less money if they wanted to stay with the company. That does not mean Sheamus went through the exact same thing, but the timing is hard to ignore.

Sheamus’ WWE career is massive. He became a four-time world champion, King of the Ring, Royal Rumble winner, Money in the Bank winner, United States Champion, and one-half of The Bar with Cesaro. He went from a hard-hitting Irish powerhouse to one of WWE’s most reliable veterans. He worked with John Cena, Randy Orton, Triple H, Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, Gunther, Drew McIntyre, Cesaro, and plenty more. No matter where WWE slotted him, Sheamus usually made the fight feel real.

Now, the Sheamus Twitter change comes as his WWE run appears to be reaching the finish line. That opens up a lot of questions. AEW, TNA, NJPW, international promotions, and the independent scene would all have a reason to pay attention if he wants to keep wrestling. A name like Sheamus hitting the open market does not happen often.

For now, he hasn’t said much publicly. He didn’t really need to. The Twitter name change, the WWE bio removal, and the new “Pro Wrestler” label said plenty.
