Samantha Irvin isn’t backing down from what she said about her WWE exit, and now she’s going directly at fans accusing her of lying about it. One day after saying she never left WWE to chase a music career, Irvin got into a back-and-forth with a fan who pointed to the music she released after leaving the company.
On October 26, a fan took to Twitter and responded to Irvin’s comments and argued that her story didn’t add up. The fan specifically pointed to the fact that she worked on and released music after her WWE departure.
“Wait…wait…wait….so, the chick that worked on and released music shortly after her WWE release is claiming she wasn’t interested in the music business. Yo, people just wake up and lie 😂”
Irvin wasn’t having that argument at all. She pointed out that she had already been independently releasing songs for years before WWE and compared making music to somebody knitting without suddenly deciding to enter the clothing industry.
“the chick who has independently released songs since 2013 and had a 2 year non compete made art. just cause your nana knitted you a sweater doesn’t mean she’s started a clothing line, bruh.”
That didn’t end things, as the fan came back and questioned how Irvin could have released songs since 2013 while also saying she wanted nothing to do with the music business. The fan then declared that the conversation was over.
“Holy s***. Lmao so, you released songs since 2013, but wanted nothing to do with the music business. Yeah, we’re done here lmfao”
Irvin fired back one more time and made it clear that, in her view, independently making and releasing music isn’t the same thing as wanting a career in the music business.
“do you know what the music business is? Yes, we are definitely done here lol”
The exchange comes just one day after Irvin tried to clear up the story surrounding her October 2024 WWE departure. She said WWE actually offered her a record deal and that she turned it down because becoming a professional wrestling manager was what interested her.
“WWE offered me a record deal, to which I politely declined because I have no interest in the music business! My interest was in managing wrestlers. And that’s all I’ve ever expressed.”
Irvin also addressed the music she released after leaving WWE, saying those songs were independent projects she made for fun with former Cirque du Soleil colleagues. According to her, releasing music didn’t mean she was trying to launch a new career in the industry.
“I made some songs last year for fun & videos with my colleagues from Cirque du Soleil and released independently for my singing fans from before wrestling but other than that, I made no proclamations about or efforts towards a ‘music’ career 🙏🏽”
That explanation pushes back against what was reported when Irvin originally left WWE. Bryan Alvarez said at the time that she had outside projects she wanted to pursue, while Dave Meltzer reported that she had been considering leaving for nearly a year and wanted to become more involved with her music.
Irvin’s position two years later couldn’t be much clearer: making and independently releasing songs isn’t the same thing as wanting to enter the music business. With fans now openly challenging that explanation, she’s showing that she’s more than willing to defend the distinction herself.
