Ryback is not joining the internet mob against Roman Reigns.
Roman Reigns caught heat after appearing at UFC Freedom 250 on the White House lawn, and plenty of people online had something to say about it. Paul Walter Hauser got a lot of attention for his criticism, but the backlash was bigger than just one actor taking shots at The OTC.
Ryback saw the noise and decided to back Roman instead of piling on. The former WWE star took to X and said Roman has always treated him with respect. He also made it clear that people are going way too far by acting like one appearance tells the whole story about someone’s character.
“Roman Reigns has always been one of the most respectful, professional people I’ve known in this business. He’s a family man and someone who’s done a lot of good for a lot of people.”
Ryback also pointed out the part everyone seems to be skipping over. WWE and UFC are both under the TKO umbrella, so Roman showing up at a major UFC event is not exactly some shocking mystery.
“WWE and UFC are under the same company. If one of the biggest stars in WWE is invited to a major UFC event, it shouldn’t surprise any of us that he’d attend. Going to an event doesn’t suddenly define someone’s character or mean we know everything they believe.”
That was the heart of Ryback’s message. Roman went to an event tied to the same corporate family as WWE, and suddenly people were acting like they had him completely figured out.
Ryback also posted a video where he kept that same tone. He said Roman is in a major position with a major company and was probably invited because of that. He also said fans need to stop turning every public appearance into a reason to attack someone.
“Roman Reigns is a great guy. He does a lot of good. He’s in a major position for a major company.”
Ryback then turned the whole thing into a bigger point about outrage culture. He said people are too quick to judge, too quick to point fingers, and too obsessed with being angry.
“Happiness is a choice. And sometimes that choice starts by looking in the mirror instead of always pointing fingers and always wanting to be angry over everything.”
That part stands out because Ryback has spent years after his WWE exit dragging plenty of names from the company. This time, though, he came across way different. He was calm, direct, and actually gave Roman credit instead of using the moment to take another shot at WWE.
Ryback’s message was simple. Roman Reigns showing up at UFC Freedom 250 does not define who he is, what he believes, or how he treats people. As far as Ryback is concerned, people turned a business appearance into a character trial.
Roman Reigns has not needed much help handling criticism during his career, but Ryback made it clear he is not buying this round of backlash.
