Rusev is fired up heading into WWE RAW, and he made that very clear with a message aimed straight at Penta before their match.
The April 27 episode of WWE RAW will take place at the Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas. The show is already stacked, with Seth Rollins set to open the show, Becky Lynch scheduled to appear after her WrestleMania win over AJ Lee, and Roman Reigns expected to address whether he will face Jacob Fatu at WWE Backlash. Joe Hendry is also set to make his RAW debut with a live concert.
While the show features several big names, Rusev made sure attention shifted to his upcoming singles match against Penta. One day before RAW, Rusev posted a video on Twitter reacting to the match announcement. He made it clear he has been waiting for this moment and wants a clean fight with Penta after dealing with chaos in recent matches.
“All right, y'. All. It's a happy day at the Rusev household. Just got the word that tomorrow night, Monday night, Raw, Penta versus Rusev is happening. Finally, finally, finally, I'm gonna get my hands one on one on Penta. No other five fools trying to jump around from ladders trying to get between me and my title.”
Rusev also acknowledged Penta’s style, but he made it clear he believes his strength and aggression will give him the advantage when they step into the ring.
“And I know, I know I'm not taking Penta lightly. I know about all his fancy trick. But Rusev is big. Rusev is strong, and Rusev is mean. And he's pissed off.”
He then explained that this match means more than just a win, saying his focus is on championship gold and representing his supporters.
“I'm not fighting for another house, for another car. I'm fighting for the thing that matters the most to me, and that is the WWE Intercontinental title. Because I want to go home as a champion. I want to represent my people, my fans, as a champion. They expect it from me, and I'm going to deliver it for them.”
Rusev ended the message with a simple warning about what he plans to do once the match begins.
“So tomorrow night, Rusev crush.”
With a loaded RAW lineup already in place, Rusev’s message adds even more heat to his showdown with Penta. He clearly sees this as a major opportunity to move closer to the Intercontinental Championship.
