Roxanne Perez has spent years talking about wanting to wrestle AJ Lee. Now that AJ is back in WWE, Perez doesn’t just want the dream match anymore. She wants to be the reason AJ leaves again.

While speaking with MuscleManMalcolm on September 12, Perez was asked about potentially facing the woman she grew up idolizing. Perez immediately said she wants the match before taking it one step further.

“I think yes, 100%. I would love to wrestle AJ Lee and I would love to retire Miss AJ Lee.”

That last part caught the interviewer off guard. AJ only recently returned to WWE, so the idea of already sending her back into retirement sounded a little premature. Perez didn’t back down. Instead, she questioned why AJ hasn’t been around and offered to give her a much more permanent reason to disappear.

“Well, where is she? Where is she? Clearly, she doesn’t want to be here. So, she wants to come one more time, then I can actually give her a reason to not be here.”

This isn’t the first time Perez has gone after AJ for being absent. Speaking to NotSamWrestling after SummerSlam on August 2, Perez demanded the match and said beating AJ would prove she was better than one of the women who inspired her career.

“AJ Lee? I need my match. Then I can prove I am better than her.”

Perez admitted that AJ, Bayley and Paige were once women she looked up to. At 24 years old, however, she believes she has already surpassed where they were at the same age, and she found AJ’s timing particularly suspicious.

“I realized I am actually way better than Bayley, Paige, and all these women at 24 years old. They wish they were as good as me at 24 years old. It’s so weird she just disappeared when Roxanne Perez came back. Where is she? She was here when I left, but when I came back, she went poof. She doesn’t want her legacy to be crushed. She knows I’ll crush her legacy. So, mother, come back. You know you wanna come back. Or maybe she’s scared.”

Perez has spent long enough calling AJ one of her inspirations. If she gets what she wants now, there won’t be much of a tribute involved. She wants AJ Lee across the ring from her, and this time Perez has already decided how she wants that story to end.

Would you want to see Roxanne Perez face AJ Lee, and should Perez actually be the one to retire her? Let us know in the comments.
