Roman Reigns has put a rough timeline on how much longer fans can expect to see him competing at WWE’s highest level.
While speaking on the Nightcap podcast, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion revealed he believes he has about two to three years left performing at an elite level before he seriously considers walking away from his full-time in-ring career.
“I definitely have a few more years in what I’m doing now. I guess it just depends on what the schedule would look like. And you’ve seen other performers. You know, I just talked to Undertaker a few minutes ago and he was like, ‘I’m working more than I did in the past 10 years,’ because he had a very nice schedule, but he put in a lot of work to get to that point.”
Reigns made it clear he isn’t slowing down because his body is failing him. In fact, he said he still feels like he’s in his prime and is confident he can continue performing at the highest level.
“I guess it depends on what the outside projects look like, but I definitely feel comfortable with a couple to three more years of just elite level top performance.”
The bigger question for Reigns isn’t whether he can still wrestle—it’s where he wants to spend his time. After years at the top of WWE, he admitted his wife and children will be a major factor when the time comes to decide what’s next.
“I’m still in my prime. I still feel very good. I think it just gets to the point of where do I want to put my attention? I have a lot of children. I want to be able to give back that time to my wife that she sacrificed while I’ve chased this dream.”
For now, Reigns isn’t putting an exact date on his retirement. Instead, he plans to reassess everything in a few years, weighing his health, family, mindset and opportunities outside WWE before making what could be the biggest decision of his career.
“So I think in three years or so, we’ll be able to figure out exactly what I want to do and what are going to be the variables that make me do that. You know, do I want to… how’s my body feeling? Where am I at mentally? Where am I at spiritually? Where’s my family at? Where are my children at? What are they doing? What’s the schedule look like for them? So we’ll see. But I still feel good, y’all.”
Whether that timeline ultimately sticks remains to be seen, but Reigns has made one thing clear: the countdown has started. As long as he still feels capable of performing at an elite level, he’ll continue leading WWE. Once those priorities begin to shift toward family and life outside the ring, however, fans could be watching the final chapter of one of the greatest careers in WWE history unfold.
