Roman Reigns doesn’t think The Bloodline’s run is ending anytime soon. In fact, he believes it will last as long as he’s around.
While appearing on the Nightcap podcast, the OTC was asked about The Bloodline’s future after reflecting on how much his career changed once he embraced the Tribal Chief character. Reigns said the group has never been just another WWE faction because it’s built around his real family.
“I have my family. I got my blood. And that’s real. We’re not a faction. We’re a family. People wonder like, ‘How long is this gonna go on?’ Forever, until I’m gone.”
That answer came after Reigns explained why he stopped trying to be “one of the boys” when he returned during the pandemic. He said becoming the Tribal Chief forced him to make a choice between fitting in backstage and becoming the leader WWE needed.
“There was around a time when I kind of transformed into the Tribal Chief around COVID when I came back. I had to make a choice of, do I want to be one of the boys or do I want to be responsible for the championships? Do I want to pull the wagon? Do I want to make this business better? Do I want to advance the industry?”
According to Reigns, that decision changed almost everything about his life behind the scenes. Rather than building friendships around the locker room, he became completely focused on carrying the company: “I’ll cleanly say now I don’t really have many friends anymore.”
Reigns said that doesn’t bother him because his priorities have shifted. His family comes first, and that’s why The Bloodline means far more to him than an on-screen storyline. He also admitted he approaches WWE very differently these days, viewing everyone as business partners instead of close friends.
“I’m not in the friend business. We’re in the conflict business. We’re in here to sell tickets to get y’all to see us go at it. I’m a businessman and I’m cordial with the locker room, but I’m not really trying to hang out with anybody.”
For Roman Reigns, The Bloodline isn’t something that ends when a storyline wraps up or a championship changes hands. As far as he’s is concerned, it’s part of his family’s legacy, and that’s why he believes its place in WWE will continue for as long as he’s leading the table.
