Road Dogg isn’t taking the blame for how WWE used Dexter Lumis.
After seeing a photo of the recently released Wyatt Sicks member competing in a bodybuilding competition, the former WWE executive took to Twitter and praised Lumis and questioned why someone with that level of talent was never given a bigger role on television.
“The right person. The right talent. Best Dexter ever! The @WWENXT wedding? Zombie match? C’mon man, and yall got nothing for him @WWE.”
That comment immediately backfired. Fans quickly reminded Road Dogg that he had worked on WWE’s creative team, with one fan bluntly replying: “YOU WERE THE ONE BOOKING HIM ROAD DOGG.” Road Dogg didn’t hesitate to shut that down: “No I wasn’t.”
When another fan repeated the same accusation, Road Dogg expanded on his response, pointing to the fact that he left WWE earlier this year: “lol why did I quit if I had creative control? C’mon man.”
The exchange comes just months after Lumis confirmed his own WWE departure following the company’s April roster cuts. In an emotional farewell message, Lumis thanked his Wyatt Sicks stablemates, the WWE locker room and the fans who embraced the group, saying they could feel Bray Wyatt’s presence every time they made their entrance. He ended the post by promising fans, “See you soon,” teasing that his wrestling journey is far from over.
Road Dogg’s comments now show the ongoing debate over who is actually responsible for WWE’s creative decisions. While many fans assumed he had the final say in Lumis’ direction, Dogg insists that simply wasn’t the case.
