Rey Mysterio is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling, with an undeniable influence on the industry. Having accomplished virtually everything in his career and already inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, Mysterio recently revealed that he wants WWE to hold a Premium Live Event in Mexico.
In recent months, WWE has expanded its reach with premium live events held in Australia, France, and Saudi Arabia, with Bash in Berlin on the horizon. As the company continues to explore international markets, many superstars have expressed their desire to see this trend continue.
In an interview with Graham “GSM” Matthews for Bleacher Report, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio shared his hope for WWE to hold a Premium Live Event in Mexico.
“I’m hoping that it happens in the next three years. I think my people deserve something as good as a PLE. I’m truly hoping. We have a huge stadium over there, Estadio Azteca, which I believe is being remodeled this year. I think the fans would go crazy. Mexico has always been an incredible crowd for wrestling and what better than to pay it off with WWE coming over there and giving them something as special as a PLE?”
Rey Mysterio also named an unexpected opponent for his retirement match. Regardless, only time will tell if The Master of The 619 will end up getting his wish before his retires for good.
