Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre may both be back in the mix by SummerSlam, so fans won’t have to wait much longer.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, an internal WWE document that circulated earlier this month included both Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre in connection with this year’s SummerSlam premium live event.

Both stars have been absent from WWE television since WrestleMania 42. McIntyre has been away while filming the Highlander reboot, while Orton has not returned since losing to Cody Rhodes in the Undisputed WWE Championship main event and attacking him afterwards.

The report noted that WWE internally expects both men to be ready in time for SummerSlam weekend. SummerSlam 2026 will take place across two nights on August 1 and August 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

There is currently no word on how Orton or McIntyre will be used if they return for the show. However, their names appearing in internal SummerSlam documents is a strong sign that WWE is at least discussing plans for both former world champions.

For now, nothing has been officially announced, and WWE plans can always change. Still, the latest report suggests that Orton and McIntyre are both trending toward being available for one of the company’s biggest events of the year.
