The list of victims keeps getting longer, but the list of suspects may have just gotten a lot shorter. A new report ties TNA’s mystery attacker storyline to two recently released WWE stars.
Every week, another wrestler seems to turn up laid out backstage. Moose, Cedric Alexander, Jeff Hardy, Leon Slater and, most recently, Matt Hardy have all been taken out, and the latest episode only made fans even more curious after what looked like two people walking away from the scene before Matt was found. Now we may have an idea of the identities of the attackers.
During a recent PWInsider Q&A, Mike Johnson was asked who he believes has been behind all the attacks. Instead of throwing out a random guess, he pointed to two names that have already been linked to TNA in recent backstage reports.
“We reported last week on PWInsiderElite.com that the former Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis have been discussed as coming in, so they seem to be the prime suspects to me.”
Johnson also hinted that fans might not have to wait very long to see if that theory is right. With TNA airing live again on Thursday, he thinks the company could finally reveal who’s been terrorizing the roster.
“Maybe we will find out when TNA has a live episode on Thursday.”
The timing makes sense. Earlier this week, reports noted that Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy were the two former Wyatt Sicks members being discussed internally for TNA creative after their WWE exits. Nothing has been announced yet, but they’ve quickly become the names most fans are watching.
Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s definitely them. Whether it’s Lumis and Gacy or someone completely different, TNA has done a solid job keeping fans guessing. If the company is planning a big reveal on Thursday, this mystery might finally be about to pay off.
