Possible Spoiler on Danhausen’s Mystery Partner at WWE Backlash

CM Punk may be out of the picture for Danhausen at WWE Backlash — but a completely different celebrity name is now being linked to the mystery partner spot.

After speculation exploded online over the possibility of Punk teaming with Danhausen, especially following commentary references to someone who “loves money,” recent reports shut down the idea. A Self Made report stated Punk is currently not scheduled for Backlash, despite fans continuing to connect the dots.

Now the conversation has shifted again. According to Bryan Alvarez, there is growing speculation that country music star Jelly Roll could actually be the mystery partner instead. Alvarez addressed the situation directly while posting on Twitter and made it clear he could not fully confirm the information yet, but said the speculation is very much out there.

“I can’t confirm this but I am hearing speculation that the mystery partner for Danhausen is, in fact, Jelly Roll, which would make a LOT more sense than an unadvertised PLE appearance by CM Punk.”

This immediately got attention because Jelly Roll already has ties to WWE and has previously appeared at WrestleMania 42. From WWE’s perspective, using a celebrity guest for a Backlash segment would also line up more naturally with the kind of surprise involvement the company typically promotes ahead of a premium live event.

It would also explain why WWE seemingly never strongly hinted at Punk beyond fan theories built around the “loves money” line. Meanwhile, Danhausen’s situation inside the storyline remains the same. The Miz and Kit Wilson are still waiting at Backlash, while Nick Aldis previously made it clear the match only happens if Danhausen can actually secure a partner.

At this point, CM Punk appearing at Backlash is looking far less likely than it did a few days ago. Instead, WWE may be leaning toward a celebrity crossover moment with Jelly Roll standing beside Danhausen.
