The legal mess surrounding Hulk Hogan’s widow Sky Daily and her son Hayden Hitt just took another turn, and now the cops are pushing back. Clearwater Police say one of the biggest claims made in the lawsuit simply isn’t true — the investigation was never quietly shut down.

According to TMZ, a Jane Doe suing Daily and Hitt claimed she went to police after Hitt allegedly became violent with her. In her lawsuit, she alleged that Clearwater Police quickly closed the case because of Daily’s alleged standing within the Church of Scientology.

Well, police are now saying that’s not what happened. Clearwater Police says it began investigating the matter back in March and eventually referred the case to the Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney’s Office for possible prosecution. More importantly, the department says the case is still very much alive.

“The case is not closed; media reports indicating that are inaccurate.”

That’s a pretty major response considering what Jane Doe alleged. She claims she had been living with Daily and Hitt and that Hitt repeatedly got physical with her, while Daily allegedly convinced her to forgive him whenever things got bad. Things allegedly boiled over during a March 28 party when Jane Doe claims Hitt shoved her through a doorway and into a clothes rack. She says she immediately texted Daily about what happened, with Daily allegedly responding:

“I’m sorry he’s acting out. Now is not the time to talk sense always wait till the morning.”

Jane Doe says she wasn’t willing to wait until morning and called the cops. She alleges Daily then kicked her out and dumped her belongings outside, while Hitt allegedly contacted her the following day asking her to delete messages and not pursue charges.

It doesn’t stop there. A second lawsuit tied to the same March 28 party was filed by a minor identified as Jane B. Doe, who alleges she was sexually assaulted by another minor while incapacitated. She claims Hitt guarded the door during the alleged assault, while Daily and Hitt are facing negligence claims connected to the incident.

Those allegations remain exactly that — allegations — and none have been proven in court. But one thing is now pretty damn clear: Clearwater Police doesn’t want anyone thinking this investigation disappeared, and they’re publicly insisting the case remains open after being referred to prosecutors.

Why do you think police decided to publicly address this particular claim while the lawsuits are still playing out? Let us know what you think in the comments.
