Paige is opening up about the moment her life nearly fell apart after her 2017 sex tape leak, revealing that her father stunned her with a comment comparing her to Kim Kardashian — and that unexpected reaction helped change her mindset.
While speaking on Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story? podcast, Paige reflected on the fallout from March 2017, when private videos involving Brad Maddox and Xavier Woods leaked online and spread quickly across the internet. The situation became one of the biggest scandals tied to WWE talent at the time, and Paige said it pushed her into one of the lowest points of her life. She admitted that after the tapes surfaced, she felt completely overwhelmed and began thinking there was no way forward.
“Me for this, I'm gonna kill myself. That was it, you know? I was like, I can't be here anymore.”
Paige said she felt alone and feared how her father would react once the videos became public, believing his reaction could determine whether she could keep going.
“I went through that stage of feeling like I was completely alone… I felt like, my dad is my life, you know, and if he can't accept the fact that these tapes are out, I don't know if I… I just… I was ready to do it. I was done.”
Instead of anger or disappointment, Paige said her father responded with support — and then delivered a comment she never expected to hear. She recalled how he tried to shift her perspective by pointing out that scandals involving private tapes had happened before — and even led to massive fame.
“He goes, you know what? You could be famous, like Kim Kardashian.”
Paige said the comparison completely caught her off guard, especially hearing her father reference a pop culture figure known for turning a scandal into global fame.
“That's true. It could work in your favor. I was like, how the f*ck do you know Kim Kardashian? I was, like, so confused.”
Looking back, Paige said that moment changed everything. Hearing her father stay calm and even suggest that her life wasn’t over helped her pull back from the edge during what she described as the lowest moment she had ever faced.
“He saved my life that day. He saved my life. He absolutely saved my life… that was the lowest I've ever been in my life.”
