Orange Cassidy is not stressing over some big master plan for his AEW future. In fact, he is not even pretending one exists.
During a conversation with Extreme Channel, Cassidy was asked whether he has a five-year plan, or whether that is too much planning for him. That question could have opened the door for the usual wrestler answer about goals, championships, legacy, and chasing the next big thing. Cassidy didn’t do any of that.
“I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t have a 5-minute plan. I don’t have a 5-second plan. Where I am is what I’m doing.”
That is about as Orange Cassidy as it gets. No big speech. No fake motivational line. No over-the-top claim about taking over AEW. Just Cassidy saying he is where he is, and that is what he is doing.
The answer came after Cassidy had already talked about Tony Khan having faith in him from the start, his AEW International Championship run, and the way his character works. Still, when it came to the future, Cassidy made it clear that he does not operate like someone mapping out every career move.
What do you think about Orange Cassidy saying he has no five-year plan? Is that part of what makes him work, or should AEW have a bigger long-term direction for him? Sound off in the comments below.
