Matt Cardona is dealing with a nasty injury after his latest WWE match, but he’s already making it clear this isn’t going to be the end of the road.

The WWE star revealed on August 23 that he tore his triceps during a match Friday night, showing off a badly swollen arm while still managing to joke about how jacked it looked. Cardona didn’t specifically name the match where the injury happened, but he wrestled Kit Wilson during the WWE Main Event taping on Friday, August 21, making that bout the match his post appears to be referencing.

“I wish my arm was this jacked. Unfortunately, it’s just swollen because I tore my tricep in a match on Friday night. (I still went to the gym today and did legs) I’ll keep you updated. I’M NOT FINISHED.”

That clears up the timing surrounding the injury. Cardona had also wrestled GUNTHER one week earlier on the August 14 episode of SmackDown, where he took multiple powerbombs before submitting and was checked by medical officials afterward. However, Cardona’s reference to Friday night now points to his August 21 Main Event match with Wilson rather than the GUNTHER bout.

Cardona hasn’t revealed how severe the tear is, whether surgery will be required or how much time he could miss. Judging by the photo, though, his arm is seriously swollen — and somehow he still made it to the gym to train legs.

There’s no return timetable yet, but Cardona made sure nobody confused the injury with the end of his comeback. Ringside News will continue to keep you updated as information becomes available.
