Hiromu Takahashi’s WWE arrival may be a lot closer than anyone thought.
According to False Finish, sources indicate that Takahashi is expected to report to the WWE Performance Center soon. WWE has not announced anything yet, but that is a pretty big step for a name fans have been watching closely since he left NJPW.
Takahashi officially parted ways with New Japan Pro-Wrestling earlier this year after a long run as one of the promotion’s top junior heavyweight stars.
“After careful consideration and discussions with NJPW management, Hiromu Takahashi, who has been a long standing member of the NJPW roster will leave New Japan Pro-Wrestling.”
That exit already had fans wondering where he would land next, and WWE was always part of that conversation. We had previously reported that people in WWE and NXT had been expecting him to come in eventually.
Then WWE added more fuel to the speculation when it filed to trademark “Bakusai” on June 26 for wrestling entertainment services. WWE has not said who the name is for, but fans immediately started connecting it to Takahashi because of the timing.
There is also the EVIL example. He left NJPW and later showed up in NXT as Naraku, so it is not hard to see why fans are wondering whether Takahashi could be next to get a new WWE identity.
For now, WWE has not confirmed Takahashi, Bakusai, or any debut plans. Still, if he really is heading to the Performance Center soon, this rumor is starting to look a lot less like fantasy booking and a lot more like something WWE may already be preparing behind the scenes.
