Nikki Bella has reached a point where the thought of never finding another boyfriend or husband doesn’t scare her anymore. At 42, she says she would actually be completely at peace if another relationship simply never happened.

Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, Nikki’s dating life came up after Brie Bella mentioned a video about women becoming genuinely comfortable on their own. Nikki immediately said that describes where she is right now.

Nikki: “I don’t fear being alone. Like I don’t have that fear. If I never find a relationship or a husband or a boyfriend or a partner ever again, like I am completely at peace with that.”

Brie: “Ever again?”

Nikki: “Yeah.”

Brie: “Wow.”

Nikki: “Like I don’t feel the need to have it. I don’t need it.”

That doesn’t mean Nikki has completely lost interest in having a man around. There are still moments when she misses the kind of affection that comes with a relationship—she just doesn’t feel any urgency to go looking for it.

Nikki: “Don’t get me wrong. Like at times I would love to have an attention by a man, like a man, a lake. You know what I mean?”

Brie: “Yeah.”

Nikki: “Like a little butt grab or something cute. Like, but it is crazy ’cause you get into this place where you’re just doing your life and you don’t think about it a lot.”

Nikki also knows her life won’t always look exactly like it does now. Her son Matteo currently occupies a huge part of it, but she knows he’ll eventually grow older, become more independent and reach a point where spending all his time with mom isn’t exactly at the top of his list. That’s when Nikki could see another relationship fitting naturally into her life. She admitted she’d enjoy having someone around for the ordinary stuff—and the not-so-ordinary stuff.

“I know that day will come and then I, you know, will—it’ll be such a great time for me to get to hopefully, you know, find a relationship. Um, that would be great. ‘Cause I would love all those things, to have a glass of wine with someone, you know, in the evening and different things like that. For sure. Have great sex.”

That outlook is particularly interesting considering what Nikki was saying only a month ago. Back in July, Nikki admitted on the same podcast that being single at 42 could still mess with her confidence. Thinking about dating sometimes left her worrying about her appearance, whether she’d feel comfortable naked and what another man might think about her body.

“I get, I feel guilty of it at times because I think, you know, I’m here. I’m single, 42 and I focus on some things or I can tend to be insecure about some things because I am single at this age. And so when I think about dating or I, you know, put myself like, oh, but do I look good enough here? Will I be comfortable enough naked? Or what if he thinks of this or that?”

Nikki sounds considerably less worried about finding that person at all. She still likes the idea of eventually sharing wine, affection and sex with somebody, but the difference is that she no longer sees a relationship as something missing from her life. If another partner eventually comes along, Nikki sounds open to it. If one never does, she says she’s finally reached a place where that doesn’t scare her either.
