Nia Jax tried getting the Mexico City crowd going with a little “USA” taunting during SmackDown. The fans understood exactly what she was doing, and their response got very personal very quickly.
William Beltrán of Super Luchas sent word to Ringside News about the chants directed at Jax during her WWE Women’s Championship match against Chelsea Green on the September 11 SmackDown. According to Beltrán, fans began chanting “Pinche gorda” at Jax after she started saying or chanting “USA.” The Spanish insult roughly translates to “f***ing fat.”

Jax had plenty of time to hear from the crowd because she spent much of the match beating down Green. After catching Green’s attempted suicide dive, Jax threw the champion over the announce desk before taking control back inside the ring.
Green kept finding ways back into the fight, hitting a step-up enzuigiri, missile dropkick and hurricanrana. Jax responded with a Uranage, Senton and Samoan Drop while continuing to overpower the champion.
Things became even rougher when Jax ripped at Green’s protective mask. Tiffany Stratton later got involved on the outside and took a hit meant for Green, giving the champion another opening. Jax eventually missed the Annihilator, and Green quickly took advantage. She put her protective mask back on, used it to headbutt Jax and followed with the Unprettier to retain the WWE Women’s Championship.
Jax may have been trying to get under the Mexico City crowd’s skin by bringing “USA” into the match, but the fans had their own way of firing back. They didn’t just boo her. They made sure their response was loud, vulgar and directed straight at her.
