El Grande Americano got treated like a full-blown hometown hero in Mexico City, but fans watching WWE RAW back on Netflix apparently didn’t hear the same explosion.
During the September 14, 2026 episode of WWE RAW, Americano received one of the biggest reactions of the night inside Arena CDMX, and Ringside News has now learned that those ovations were noticeably turned down on the replay. The timing makes that even stranger. Americano walked into RAW fresh off winning the AAA Mega Championship from Dominik Mysterio at TripleMania 34, so the Mexico City crowd was already ready to lose its mind when he showed up.
Americano stepped in for Rey Mysterio and teamed with Stephanie Vaquer against Dominik and Liv Morgan. Inside the building, the reaction was huge, but William Beltrán of SuperLuchas sent word to Ringside News that fans noticed something very different once the replay hit Netflix. Beltrán said the crowd volume for Americano was clearly dialed back.
“Something else that fans noticed is that the big crowd reaction and big ovations for El Grande Americano was noticeably turned down. The volume was turned down. This has been seen as strange and has raised questions among fans.”
That’s what makes this one stand out. Netflix has already been cleaning up parts of the Mexico City replay, including offensive fan comments and other moments from the live broadcast, but turning down a giant babyface reaction is a completely different kind of edit.
Americano’s monster reception also wasn’t some random one-night thing. After beating Dominik Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship at TripleMania 34, he came into RAW with serious momentum and got treated like one of the biggest stars in the building.
Netflix also altered what viewers saw during Roman Reigns’ entrance. Ringside News previously covered how the replay switched camera angles to remove a fan flipping Reigns off, so both the video and audio from the Mexico City show have already been getting cleaned up after the live broadcast.
The Americano situation is the weirdest one yet because there was nothing offensive about the reaction itself. Fans were simply going crazy for the new AAA Mega Champion, and that noise apparently got turned down anyway.
Mexico City gave El Grande Americano a superstar reaction, but Netflix viewers apparently got the watered-down version. When you start dialing back cheers on top of censoring other parts of the show, fans are naturally going to wonder exactly how much of the live atmosphere is being changed once the replay goes up.
