Dominik Mysterio just got screwed out of the AAA Mega Championship by his own father. During AAA TripleManía 34 Night Two on September 13, 2026, Rey Mysterio stormed the ring in a neck brace and referee shirt, counted Dominik’s shoulders down and handed El Grande Americano the biggest win of his career.
Dominik and Americano had already beaten the hell out of each other in the No DQ match before the family drama took over. Chairs, steel steps and even Dorian Roldán’s belt all came into play as Dominik tried everything possible to keep his title.
He also had plenty of backup. JD McDonagh jumped into the fight and helped Dominik set up a 619 before Rayo and Bravo Americano came down to even the odds. Omos then entered the picture and started wiping people out on the ramp until Americano fought him off with chair shots and sent the giant crashing through the barricade.
Then Liv Morgan showed up. Liv knocked Americano from the top rope, allowing Dominik to connect with another 619 and a frog splash, but Americano somehow kicked out. Things completely fell apart from there.
The referee was taken out during the chaos, and Liv slid the AAA Mega Championship into the ring. Dominik blasted Americano with the belt and went for another frog splash, but Americano moved.
Americano then drilled Dominik with another running headbutt and had him beaten — except there was nobody there to count. That’s when Rey Mysterio came running down. Rey, still wearing a neck brace after what went down the previous night, showed up dressed as a referee, slid into the ring and counted Dominik’s shoulders down for the three-count. Just like that, El Grande Americano was the new AAA Mega Champion.
Dominik had survived Americano, outside interference, Omos going down and a referee bump, but in the end, it was his own father who finished him off. Rey didn’t just watch his son lose the title — he personally counted the pin that ended Dominik’s reign.
