Moose has watched wrestlers come and go in TNA for the last decade, so he isn’t buying the idea that every departure means something is wrong with the company. In fact, he thinks fans are way too quick to point the finger at TNA whenever someone’s contract ends.
Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Moose said roster turnover is just part of wrestling. What annoys him is how quickly social media turns every exit into another story about TNA supposedly falling apart.
“It’s just one of those things. It happens. I mean, wrestling’s a revolving door, right? Somebody leaves, somebody new comes in. I wish our fans knew that a little bit more than the boys do because it tends to be when somebody leaves or asks for their release or their contract is up, you go on social media and everybody’s blasting TNA about, ‘Oh my God, this person’s leaving.’”
Moose says he’s been with the company long enough to know this isn’t anything new. From his point of view, TNA has gone through the same cycle every single year he’s been there.
“But I’ve been in TNA for 10 years, and I wish I could tell you it’s been different. It happens every single year. Somebody we love is gonna leave, and somebody new that we get to love is gonna come in.”
His comments line up with what Nic Nemeth said a couple of months ago when fans started questioning TNA’s future. Nemeth argued that people were paying attention to every wrestler who left while completely ignoring the talent TNA was re-signing and bringing in.
The discussion comes after a busy few months for the company. Tommy Dreamer, Tessa Blanchard, Eric Young, Steve Maclin, Aiden Prince, and several other names have all left TNA following Anthem’s workforce reductions, leading to plenty of speculation online about where the company is headed.
Moose, though, doesn’t see anything out of the ordinary. After ten years in TNA, he believes this is just how the wrestling business works. Some people move on, new faces come in, and the company keeps rolling.
