MJF’s knee injury may be real, but it isn’t keeping him away from AEW Dynamite, as he just confirmed he will be present for tonight’s show.
The AEW World Champion suffered a hyperextended left knee during his match against RUSH on the June 3 episode of Dynamite. The injury was bad enough to force him out of Beyond Wrestling’s June 5 event, where he was scheduled to face Bobby Orlando.
Even so, MJF has made it clear that he is still moving forward. On June 10, 2026, MJF took to Twitter and confirmed that he will be at AEW Dynamite, which takes place at The Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio: “.i gotta go to Ohio 🙄”
That update should ease some concern from fans after MJF recently admitted that his knee was still swollen and painful. In a video posted to Instagram, he confirmed that he hyperextended his left knee against RUSH. MJF also said the swelling had gone down since the injury, though he was still dealing with pain.
“Very recently I have hurt my left knee. I hyperextended it in a match against Roosh, who is a bad person. I think we can all agree on that. This match happened on Wednesday. It is now, I believe, Tuesday and my inflammation in my knee has drastically gone down. Obviously there’s still a ton of inflammation and pain.”
Despite being banged up, the Salt of the Earth has not sounded interested in taking time off. His latest tweet shows that he is still planning to appear on AEW programming as Forbidden Door approaches.
For now, MJF’s injury forced him out of an independent booking, but it does not appear to be stopping him from showing up on Dynamite. Whether he gets physical or simply appears on the show remains to be seen, but the AEW World Champion is clearly still in the mix.
