MJF isn’t letting Carlos Silva have the last word, and he made sure to fire back publicly just hours before AEW Dynamite went live.
The situation between TNA and AEW-linked talent continues to escalate after TNA President Carlos Silva defended his decision to pull TNA wrestlers from indie matches that would have featured AEW names. Silva spoke on Busted Open Radio and took responsibility for the calls, explaining that protecting the company sometimes means making unpopular decisions. He also suggested that other companies have taken actions that forced TNA to respond, including moves involving scheduling and venue access.
“It was super tough. All these business decisions are tough—I don’t like being called a little bitch on social media any more than anyone does… but it’s okay, you take the good with the bad. You’ve got to make some hard decisions. My job sometimes is to make hard decisions… we’re going to make decisions that are good for TNA.”
Silva continued by explaining that TNA has faced pressure from outside forces and insisted that leadership must act in the company’s best interest rather than backing down.
“And we’ve got to protect TNA… we’ve had some other folks come at us—they’ve moved into our nights, they’ve made some decisions, they’ve tried to block us in arenas and venues. That stuff’s real, and it’s out there.”
Not long after Silva’s comments circulated, MJF jumped into the conversation himself. Just two hours before AEW Dynamite, MJF took to social media and accused Silva of not telling the truth. While he didn’t clarify exactly which part of Silva’s statement he was disputing, his response made it clear that tensions between the sides remain high.
“I think it’s cool that you can just lie. My turn. I think Kevin Knight has a shot at beating me at 8pm sharp and I also think Darby Allin is a GREAT champion.”
The beef traces back to earlier this month when TNA pulled talent from planned indie matches involving AEW names, including a bout between MJF and Nic Nemeth and another featuring Ricochet against Leon Slater. Those cancellations sparked immediate backlash, with MJF publicly criticizing Silva and accusing TNA of hurting wrestlers financially by blocking appearances.
Silva has since made it clear that the final call to shut down those matches was his, taking full responsibility while insisting the moves were made to protect TNA’s long-term interests. Now, with MJF openly calling Silva out on social media, the dispute is becoming increasingly public — and potentially more personal.
Whether this situation cools off or turns into a longer-running conflict between TNA leadership and AEW-affiliated talent remains to be seen. With both sides speaking out publicly, the tension shows no immediate signs of slowing down.
