Mick Foley has heard the backlash over his bizarre barking segment at AEW Redemption, and he is laughing the whole thing off. The WWE Hall of Famer took to Instagram after fans ripped the appearance, claiming he simply misunderstood what Divine Dominion wanted him to do.
Foley shared footage of the backstage interaction with Megan Bayne and Lena Kross while labeling the entire situation “A SLIGHT MISUNDERSTANDING!” He then joked that the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions told him to bow down—not start barking like a dog.
“Divine Dominion told me to bow down, not bow wow! My bad. Megan Bayne and Lena Kross—my new favorite tag team!”
The original segment took place backstage at the Bell Centre following Divine Dominion’s title defense. Foley joined Bayne and Kross for an interview, but things got weird when the champions ordered him to bow before them.
Foley then began barking, creating a moment that quickly spread across social media. Some fans enjoyed the ridiculous comedy, while others felt AEW made one of wrestling’s most respected legends look foolish.
Foley clearly is not losing any sleep over the criticism. Instead of apologizing or blaming AEW, he leaned into the joke, backed Bayne and Kross, and turned the entire mess into another punchline.
